An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on WEDNESDAY, the TWENTY-THIRD day of
NOVEMBER, 1955, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.
PRESENT: George T. Todd, in the Chair

The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:
1. Pickerin£ Village. objecting to R. D. H. P. Conservation straightening
Duffin's Creek as proposed and will pay no share of cost.
2. Jack Chapman asked for School Guards for Area 1.
3. TENDERS for Garbage Collection:
(a) A. J. Giroux 3 areas 62¢ per house per montþ.
A. J. Giroux Area 1 & 2 only 70¢ per house per month.
(b) Robert L. Watson 3 areas $10.00 per house per year
(c) Ernest Anstey Area 1 & 2 68¢ per house per month.
(d) John Culetta Area 1 $ 7.00 per house per year.
(e) R. G. Sparks Area 1 80¢ per house per month
(f) Norman lrish Area 1 111.00 per house per year.
Norman Irish Area 2 11.50 per house per year.
Norman Irish Area 3 12.00 per house per year.
Clerk get By-Laws, regulations and experience of Nelson, Vaughan and
Markham Townships re Garbage.
4. Ronald Sm~~h presented his resignation from Assessment Department,
effective November 28th. Enjoyed working here but always wanted to join
Ontario Provincial Police, and now has opportunity.
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that resignation of
Ronald Smith be accepted and that William Glidden be appointed at
salary of $ 2,600.00 per year, six months' probation. CARRIED
CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS
1. Ask Mr. Ruddy see Mr. Penn, Plan 492, re water standing at rear of his
lot.
2. Contact Daily Star re delivery of Road Signs.
3. Have Mr. Ward get prices on crushing 10,000 yards of gravel and keep
drag going.
4. Ask Markham Township to drag westerly 10 rods of Concession 6 for a
fee, as Pickering bas no Township roads near it.
5. Ask Scarborough Township to sand hill, Concession 1, Lot 35, for a
fee, as they do the lower part.
On MOTION of Mr. Pugh, the meeting adjourned.
