An Emergent meeting of Council was held on MONDAY the THIRTY-FIRST day of
OCTOBER, 1955, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

1. Tenders for furnace, north wing Municipal Building:

2. Tenders for wiring north wing Municipal Building:
Ivan Beare - all wing - $ 318.00
Gray Electric - $2.50 per hour for two men and material. F1uoreseent fixtures
4'4" tube rapid start, at $ 55.00 each.
3. K. Shumovich asked that the road ditch in front of his property, Concession
Broken Front, Range 3, Lot 28, be done this Fall. Clerk advise it is on
Road Department list and will be done.
4. R. D. H. P. Authority, advising that Mr. Westney has the Kilborn Engineering
Report on Duffin's Creek and that if the work is carried out under the
Authority they would get 37t% of cost.
5. Tenders were opened for the straightening of Duffin's Creek south of Riverside
C. Barkey - Channel, $ 2,560.00.

Mr. D. Redfern discussed Municipal water for West Rouge. Recommended 125 foot
f1ankage be exempt, that 310 feet be exempt on Lot 133, Plan 284. Stated pipe
line would go under C. P. R. bridge at Rouge River and that system would
operate, he hoped, by December 1, 1955.
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Scott, that $ 2,970.65 Tender of J. S.
Chapman to cut new watercourse for Duffin's Creek south of Riverside be
accepted, subject to approval of Mrs. Goldman to do the work on her land
and approval of Department of Planning and Development of the proposed work
and assurance they will pay the Township 37!% of such cost. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Scott, that Tender of $ 811.00 of Mr.
Alfred Kayes to instal"a furnace to heat north wing of Municipal Building be
accepted .----- CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Scott, that Tender of $ 318.00 of Ivan
Beare to wire and instal lights in north wing of Municipal Building be accepted.

CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS
1. Get Terry Ryan to repair plumbing in Police Office.
2. Have Mr. Chi11man of Port Dunbarton draw 3 loads gravel for east approach
of Police Station, and 3 loads gravel for Kiwanis Park driveway.
3. Mr. Ferguson appear before next Council meeting. (Mr. Scott)
4.
Check minutes of September re Council action re Council taking over most
northerly Pickering Beach street (Beachview). Council took no action but
directed Mr. Ruddy to meet Mr. Mann and r~rt.
