An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on FRIDAY, the SEVENTEENTH day of
JUNE, 1!}55, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.
PRESENT: George T. Todd, in the Chair
William G. Newman
Sidney S. Pugh
J. Sherman Scott
L. T. Johnston, Clerk
The following PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard:
1. Mr. Morton, Plan 228, thought he was attending Planning Board meeting.
2. Mr. S. Osterhout discussed line fences and made application for Fenceviewers.
Concession 3, Lot 27.
3. Mrs. Maud Stevens asked that Wh!tevale hill be graded as it is rough.
4. Thomas Allen, Concession 2, Lot 27, asked Council to use influence with
Planning Board so he could get three consents, as they had been refused
by the Board previously.
5. Mr. Matthews, his lawyer, Mr. Grayson, his Auditor and Golf Pro, who
have taken an option on Fred Major Farm of 274 acres, Concession 4, Lot
29-30, discussed their proposed Golf Course and a proposed subdivision
of 60 lots. Council advised them to prepare sketches of the proposed
plan and submit to the Planning Board and advised them that $ 300.00 per
lot would be required for services, standard roads, and water available.
AGREED'Council take no action on Chamber~s application to repeal By-Law for
zoning against Commercial Parks south of Greenwood. Recommend they contact
Ontario Municipal Board.
Mr. A.. D. Walker, of Civil Engineering Developments Limited agreed to pay
¡-300.00 per lot for services of if given 300 lots around Liverpool with
Municipal water made available by February, 1956., C1erk get rating on the
above firm.
Frank Barclay submitted a price of $ 472.00 to lay 6-inch loose stone with
2-inch crushed stone on top of Police Building parking area and W. D. Smith
submitted a price of $ 1.35 per yard.
AGREED Mr. Smith contact William Newman.
Pickering Villa~submitted the following resolution as passed by them June 8,
1955:
"THAT this Council accede to the suggestion of the Township of
Pickering to dissolve the Union School Section now known as S. S. No.4
West, and that the Urban Board of the Village of Pickering Public School
will establish a school section comprised of the Village of Pickering."
CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS
1. Ask Road Superintendent to grade Concession 1 Hill north of Crook's
Service Station.
Place 4~ay "STOP" signs on corner of Island Road and East Avenue.
2. Have George Ellis sod around Police Station at 35¢ per yard.
3. Get letters for W. Newman from Chesterhill Developments Limited and Town-
ship re Separate School site of 16 lots so he can meet Mr. Warriner, Minister
or Planning and Development.
