le following PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard:
L. Harold Hornshaw asked that sideline between south half Lots 32 and 33 in
Concession 5 be ofricia1ly closed. He claimed that the south 165 reet had
been deeded to his predece~sors in 1908 and they had paid taxes since that
time.
2. Ewart Antho~, owner of 115 acres Concession 5, Lots 33 and 32, objected to
the closing or side road as described in (1).
3. Orval WillsQn, owner or 12 acres in Concession 5, Lot 32, objected to the
closing or side road as described in (1).
4. Ace Taxi asked ror 2 Taxi Licenses.
5. Frank G1,eson, Ajax, asked ror one tax license. As the Police Chier had given
him a poor report, no action was taken.
6. Frank Prouse discussed certain buildings.
7. Gordon Mc~an, County Assessor, discussed Piokering Township assessments.
8. P.e1bert Goslin reported to Council on his work.
9. ~~r McGiTDe~ asked Council to release R. C. supporters trom liability ror
old debentures.
~OVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Scott, that an Atlantic telephone be installed
in Police Station as soon as possible. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Ace Taxi be granted two Taxi
Licenses. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Scott, that Darby and Son be paid $4,300.00
ror sodding at Dunbarton ø,-Pass and application be made to the Department or
Highvays ror $4,300.00, as per agreement. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seoonded by Mr. Scott, that Mrs. E. Robertson be paid ror
two weeks' holiday in 1954 - not taken. CARRIED
~D_by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Brian Ruddy be employed as Township
Engineer at a salary or . 5,000.00 per year, plus 8¢ per mile tor use or bis car on
Township business. CARRIED

Pine Ridge Road rrom pavement to corner Co..unity Park.this year, and pave it
possible.

Mr. Newman, seoonded by Mr. Scott, moves ror leave to introduce a By-Law of the
Township ot Pickering to prohibit the moving into the Township or an buildings,
and that s..e now be read a first time.
Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Pugh, moves that By-Law Number 2093 to prohibit the
moving into the Township of any building be now read a second time and that
Council go into Committee of the Whole theren.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.

Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Scott, moves tor leave to introduce a Bf-Law of the
TownShip of Pickering to license and regulate the owners of Public Garages and
gasoline Stations within the Township of Pickering pursuant to the provisions or
Paragraph 121 of subsection (a) and paragraph 122, and subsections A.B.C. and D.
of Section 388 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O., 1950, chapter 243, and amendments
thereto, and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Newman, moves that By-Law Number 2094 to license and regl
the owners or Public Garages and Gasoline Stations within the Township of PickerinA
pursuant to the provisions or Paragraph 121 of Subsection (a) and paragraph 122,
and subèections A.B.C. and D. of Section 388 of the Munidpal Act, R.S.O., 1950,
càapter 243, be now read a second time and Council go into Committee of the Whole
thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
