An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on MONDAY, the FOURTEE~ITH day of MARCH,
1955, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

The following QORRESPONDENCE was read:
1.
Secretary, School Section 18. Copies of letters approving exchange of less
than one acre school qrounds for other adjoining lands from White & Company.
R. Boyden, Plan 492, advising he is taking action re surface water crossing
his lot.

w. P. 1~atson, acknowledging receipt of By-Law No. 2072 re Brucellosis.

MOVED by Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that the Township of Pickering members
to enforce the Brucellosis Control Act, 1953, shall be John Powers, Milton Pegg,
and Douglas Plitz, together with County of Ontario A~riculture Representative,
and Dr. Worton, Provincial Veterinarian. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Mr. Allan Bath be granted a
second Taxi License. CARRIED
Mr. Lawson submitted his report on office salary increases: Mrs. Spang, $100.00;
Mr. Thompson, $300.00; Mrs. Robertson, $200.00; E. G. Baker, $100.00; D. Goslin,
$100.00; L. T. Johnston, $175.00; D. Plitz, $100.00; Mrs. Storry, $200.00.

BY-LAW NUMBER 2079
Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of
the Township of Pickering for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of
Pickering for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, payment of
salaries, the general expenses of the Corporations, to defray the cost of
Welfare, for this ~~unicipality's share of the cost of roads and general pur-
poses of the County of Ontario and to pay the Township's share of the cost of
operations of the Pickering District High School Board for the year 1955,
and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, moves that By-Law Number 2079 for the im-
provement and repair of roads and bridges, payment of salaries, the general
expenses of the Cor orations, to defray the cost of welfare, for this Muni-
cipality's share of the cost of roads and general purposes of the County of
Ontario and to pay the Township's share of the cost of operations of the
Pickering District High School Board for the year 1955, be now read a second
time, and Council go into Commi ttee of the "lhole thereon.
The Committee of the 'vVhole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that the Report of the Committee of
the Whole on By-Law Number 2079 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now
read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the
Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED

Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Scott, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the
Township of Pickerinc to appoint members to the Township of Pickering Planning
Board and to repeal By-Law ~umber 2070, and that same now be read a first time.
