MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Wank. that minutes of meeting
held August lOt 1964. be adopted. CARRIEb

The fol~owing CORRESPONDENCE was considered:
1. Ontario Water Resources Commission gives a complete report on lake
algae callea "Cladophora" but will not make a resolution for
distribution to lake municipalities. They report, "There is a
great deal of effort and money being expended currently) to develop
a surfactant that will be largely removed by sewage treatment
processes and a break-through i~ imminent". TABLED

2. Members o~ Council are invited to the Township Museum "History
in Action" day on Stpember 19th at l:30 p. m.
3. Our Solicitors make a number of comments on our proposed "insidett
Union Agreement, which were dealt with by Council. See Resolution
No. 267/6~.

The following PERSONS, on MOTION. were heard:
1. On MOTION. Gerry Fisher of Concession ß. Lot 13, was heard.
Mr. Fisher stated he operated a garage an~ lunch counter and lived
at the rear of the building. As the living quarters were not
satisfactory, he asked permission to build a home for himself on
the same lot and use the present living quarters for storage.
See Resolution No. 266/64.
2. AGREED Mr. Wm. Beddall be heard.
Mr. Beddall asked that Council reconsider their appointment of
Architects for the new Municipal Building, and that the three
local Architects be given consideration, as he felt that they had
a great deal of building experience, and he had just completed
the new 1 1/2 million dollar County Buildings.
Reeve Laycox stated the appointment would be re-considered.

MOVED by Mrs. McPherson. seconded by Mr. Wank. that the approval of
the Department of Highways be requested for the installation of a
concrete culvert on Sideline 20-21. Concession 8. CARRIED

MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Wank, that this Council make
application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent.
as recommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board on August 6.
1964 for: Roving Developments Ltd. to convey to Robert and Reseanna
Thomson part of Lot 76, Plan 418, having 60' frontage; and for Roving
Developments Ltd. to convey to Kenneth Cowan part of Lot 77 and Block
N, Plan ~18. having 296' frontage. CARRIED
RESOLUTION NUMBER 266/6~
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that Mr. Gerry Fisher
be granted permission to build a home on his property on Lot 13.
Concession 6. and that he be permitted to live in his present dwelling
until the new building is completed and prior to building permit being
issued. he be required to enter into an agreement not to use the old
dwelling in any way for residential living. CARRIED

be authorized to sign the "inside" Union Agreement as presented to
this Council subject to the approval of our Solicitors, as amended.

the Standing Committee on SANITATION, RECOMMENDING PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
in the amount of $3.757.7l, be adopted. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Wank. that the report of the
Standing Committee on ENGINEERING. recommending payment of accounts
in the amount of $4.003.~2, be adopted. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Newman, that the report of the
Standing Committee on BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT. recommending payment of
accounts in the amount of $2.356.38, be adopted. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Waring, seconded by Mr. Campbell. that the report of th$
Standing Committee on PARKS AND RECREATION, recommending payment of

Note for Future Union Agreements
County employees were given a flat $25.00 back pay increase only,
which shortens the negotiating time until agreement reached.

BY-LAW NUMBER 2913 (Third Reading)
Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Wank, moves that the report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2913 to amend By-Law Number 2899.
which set salary scales for certain Township employees. be adopted.·~

Reeve and Clerk sign the same. and the Seal of the Corporation be
