1. High School Board will meet Tuesday, April 7th, at 7:30, and
present a revised building proposal for the Pickering School.

2. Department of Highways of Ontario, Port Hope, asks Council to
revise Supplementary Road By-Law No. 2812 for 1963 by transferring
$l,358.33 from Road Construction to Road Maintenance. See
Resolution No, 90/6~.
3. Anderew Dand submits a letter objecting to sewer connection to
Lot l39, Plan 284.
Clerk forward letter to Engineer.

l~. Engineer submits a By-Law to regulate connections of weeping
tiles to sanitary sewers, and letter of explanation.

l. AGREED Mr. Albert Hull be heard.
Mr. Albert Hull stated that as municipal water was coming to
the Dunbarton High School, his committee hoped that the main
would be large enough to serve the Woodlands area, that our
Engineer had sat with his Committee a year ago, and agreed
that water for the area was badly needed; that they had taken
up a petition. and over 95% stated they wanted municipal water.
and asked that the Engineer prepare costs.
Council AGREED to ask our Engineer for a cost of water services
to such area. which comprises Concession 1 to Petticoat Creek.
Highbush Trail. Old Forest Road and Rosebank Road, from
Concession 1 to Highway ~Ol. and on receipt of this cost Mr.
Hull be advised so that they may call.a ratepayers' meeting.
2. It was AGREED that Mr. Kingston be heard.
Mr. Allan Kingston stated he had bought 1.07 acres south of
Concession. 2 east of Valley Farm Road, at foot of hill. He
proposes to live in the present house for six months and
build a new 1668 square foot house. He would be aggreeable
that Township hold $300.00 building deposit until his old
house is demolished. See Resolution No.89/64.

MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Waring, that Mr. Allan
Kingston be permitted to live in present house while he is
building a new home, provided that he moves out of the present
house by October 3lst. 196~. and that said old house be demolished
at this time; this subject to all building and zoning by-laws;
also subject to Engineer and Building 1nspector's approval.

Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Campbell, moves for leave to introduce a
By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize the borrowing of
$3~5.000.00 upon debentures for Public School purposes, and that
same now be read a first time.
Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Waring. moves that By-Law Number 2878 to
authorize the borrowing of $3~S,OOO.00 upon debentures for Public
School purposes, be now read a second time, and that Council go into
Committee of the Whole the~eon.
BY-LAW NUMBER 2879 (Two Readings)
Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Waring. moves for leave to introduce a
By-Law of the Township of Pickering to regulate the connection of
weeping tiles to a sanitary drain, and that same now be read a
first time.
Mr. Wank. seconded by Mrs. McPherson. moves that By-Law Number 2879
to regulate the connection of weeping tiles to a sanitary drain, be
now read a second time. and that Council go into Committee of the
Whole thereon.
It was AGREED that the date of Tuesday, April 21st. be a Committee
of the Whole meeting to meet with Metro Conservation Authority re
Pollut ion. (This date is satisfactory to the Authority).
Councillor Newman asked for a
(1) Dump Committee with new regulations for dumping. AGREED to
consider with Mr. Poulsson.
(2) That By-Law No. 2631, which sets the hours, etc.. for office
employees, be not given to employees outside the Township Office.
Reeve Laycox stated he had been negotiating with two industries and
a large Nursing Home and felt that there would shortly be some
activity from these negotiations.
The question of all Township employees living in the Township was
discussed. but no action taken.
Clerk check with Engineer about purchase of all tires from County.
Reeve and Clerk negotiate an option from Mr. Tapscott for 30 acres
of gravel lands in Concession 6. Lot 23.
AGREED there be a Road Committee meeting only on April l3, at

now adj ourn to meet again on MONDAY, the FOURTH day of MAY I 196~.
