The Ontario Traffic Conference asks Township to become a member of their association. Fee. $25.00. Township has never been a member. No action 2 . for not Canadian Pacific Railway advises Board that a shelter could be bU1~t ~f commuter service started. which service they doubt. Reeve submit letter to Board of Transport Commissioners re Township position. 3. Pickerin and Whitb Association for Retarded Ch~ldren as s ounc~l to procla~m per~o May 6 to 16 to be "Retarded Children's Week". See Resolution No. 86/64. ~. County of Peel asks Council to endorse their resolution in respect to the costs of annexation hearings. See Resolution No. 8~/6~. 5. City of Windsor asks Council to endorse their resolution which asks the Government of Ontario to proceed quicklY to establish a government controlled medical insurance programme. No action. 6. School Board Area No.2 wishes to meet with Council on Tuesday, April 7tb to discuss the presentation of our briefs to Mr. Gold~nberg. AGREED 9. Road Committee recommends a speed limit of 35 miles per hou~ on Concession 2 from Scarborough Township to Brock Road (Valley Farm Road). See By-Law No. 288l. 10. County Clerk advises that their Agriculture and Reforestation ~ommittee has called a meeting at Township Hall in Sunderland on Tuesday, April 7. at B p. m. tb discuss the Agricultural Rehabilitation and Development Act. - 2 - ll.. The Communit¥ Planning Association of Canada will hold a conference at the Park Plaza Hotel Thursday, May 28, in evening and all day Friday to discuss Official Plan. Registration, $15.00. 12. 196~ County levy, Pickering Township, $3~l,62l.58. Association of Ontario Mayors & Reeves asks that all Municipal resolutions for their consideration be forwarded by April 30th. l3. l4. Department of Highwa~s of Ontario advises they will, on April 18, 196~, deed to the Township old Highway 2 through Dunbarton as per submitted survey. D. H. O. will not remove traffic signs if requested by Engineer. lS. Trueman Wilcox. D.C. of Scouts. advised that his scouts could not remove posters fro. roads for a fee, but have had them removed. Reeve Laycox has given his appreciation. 16, F. H. McArthur, 558 Pine Ridge Road, stated that there was considerable erosion on hill at intersection of Pine Ridge Road, stated that there was considerable erosion on hill at inter- section of Pine Ridge Road at'Morgan Drive. Letter given Engineer for reply. The following PERSONS, on MOTION. were heard: AGREED Mr. Donald Gibson be heard for delegation of about 50 residents of Brougham and district. Mr. Gibson stated that he understood the Township proposed not to install running water in the Township Hall as required by Health Department. and as the Hall had been donated by the local residents to the Township. and as it was used 75 times in 1963 by many organiz- ations outside the area. he felt the Township should continue to keep the Hall in repair by adding running water. Mr. D. A. Beer, who owns the house next door and has 16 feet of water in his well. has agreed that for $36.00 per year he will permit the Township to use his pressure pump if Township takes water away. See Resolution No. 87/64 and By-Law No. 2883. Secondly, Mr. Gibson said that in 1958-196l & 1962 Council had agreed to build a sidewalk from the Municipal Building easterly to Park and to date work not completed. He asked that it be done in 196~. See Resolution No. 88/6~. CARRIfD RESOLUTION NUMBER 80/64 HovfD by, Mr. Wank~ seconded by Mrs. McPherson ~ THAT WHEREAS the north one-quarter of Lots l7 and 18 in the 4th Concessi&n are shown as gravel lands on the Official Plan, and þS there is no gravel in this area; , BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Offioial Plan be amended to dhow the north quarter -~~ Lôts l7-18 in the 4th Concession of the Township of Pickering to þe designated as "Rural" on the Official Plan and that the Planning Director be required to make such change. CARRIED . , , - 3 · RESOLUTION NUMBER 8l/6~ MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Spang. that as the Canadian ~acific Railway has submitted capital costs of $12.350,00 to install iights and bell at their Audley Road Crossing with yearly maintenance ~osts of $635.00; AND AS this Council has agreed to pay l2 l/2% of the capital costs and 50\ of maintenance; BE IT RESOLVED that this Council therefore agree to capital costs and $317.50 yearly maintenance if the Railway installs such bell and lights at the C.P,R. Audley Road. pay $l.543.75 Canadian Pacific crossing of the CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 82/64 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Wank. that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent, as recommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board on December 6. 1963, for John Arthur Guest and Mary Guest to convey to Thomas Roy Young and Dorothy Marie Young, a triangular shaped parcel of land having a base or frontage of lO feet by a depth of l36.9 feet. being part of Lot 74, Plan 283. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 83/64 MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Spang, that this Council make appli- çation to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent. as ~ecommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board on March 20. +96~ for Mr. W. F. Rogers to convey a Grant of Easement to the Hydro-E~ectric Power Commission of Ontario for overhanging wires. being part of Lot 9, Concession 3, as part of the Cherrywood trans- mission line. AGREED Mr. Spang make further inquiries. AGREED Engineer estimate cost of a sidewalk from west limit of Brougham sidewalk westerly to school road - about 350 feet. AGREED Reeve contact our Solicitors re High School Agreement. The following dates were set for meetings: April 7. School Area 2 Board at Rosebank School. 8:30 p. m. - re Goldenberg Report. April 9.
