Sherman Scott. in the Chair Mrs. J. McPherson Harvey Spang Milton Mowbray W. J. Greening Ross Deakin Hubert Wank L. T. Johnston. Clerk The following CORRESPONDENCE was considered: 1. Canadian National Railway submits blueprints of new Spruce Hill Road from Spruce Hill to Fairport Road and pedestrian cat-walk over C. N. R. By-Pass at Spruce Hill Road for approval. See By-Law No. 2811. 2. J. H. Faulkner accepts position of Planning Director and Industrial Commissioner. See By-Law No. 2814. 3. Department of Transport advises that their report, as submitted July 8th, should have stated "bordered by farmland on both sides" when refusing a 40 mile limit from Lawson Road to Col. Danforth Trail. See By-Law No. No. 2813. 4. Town of Ajax submits resolution. "That the Town Clerk of Ajax be requested to write to the Clerk of the Township of Pickering requesting permission for the Ajax Bus Service to proceed and return once each hour between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., north on Harwood to Highway 2. Such permission to cover trial period only (October 1, 1963). Clerk find out why the Town wants permission from Pickering Township. Department of Transport stated that no Township approval is neCessary unless there is more than one route such service could take. 5. Mrs. Mary Mosley applies for a dog kennel licence on Fairport Road North. Zoning, R 4. Mr. Ashton to submit a report. 6. Application to Ontario Municipal Board for approval for a consent. See Resolution No. 224/63. 7. Kay Stora,e Yard - heard July 25th - postponed to August 8. Our Solic1tors have submitted an agreement signed by the Kays for consideration of Council on August 6th. 8. Ontario Water Resources Commission submits a report on sanitary waste disposal at Rouge Hill Golf and Country Club. Very bad. 9. ,Board of Transport Commissioner! f~r Canada submits an application of Bell Telephone Company of Canada for increased rates for extended services. 10. The Township of Whitby Clerk advises that 'as a result of a meeting between our Road Superintendents and elected members of Council it was agreed the following ro~d. and boundary roads be maintained as follows: ' (1) Township of Pickering maintain our Boundary Road from Con. 6 to Uxbridge Township and such maintenance shall include winter maintenance, grading, gravelling and spot calcium applications. (3) Township of Whitby maintain Range Line Road (in Pickering Township Lots 1 to 4 incl.) with maintenance including winter maintenance. grading & spot calcium. (4) All bridges or portions of road now County excluded. Turned over to Road Committee. 11. Our Solicitors advise they have reached an agreement with Econo-Wash on Liverpool Road. Township billed for $5.088.12. Subdividers agreed to pay $1800.00. Settled for $2700.00. 12. Mr. H. A. Newman is not satisfied with $200.00 for right-of-way for sewers on Sandbar. H.L.4 - 3" 7.10 ton The following PERSONS. on MOTION. were heard: 1. MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Greening. that Mr. T. J. Ryan be heard. CARRIED 2. Mr. Terry Ryan represented the Committee to report on the (a) building of an Arena with artificial ice. and submited their report, which was: There is a need; it must be built near Highway 401 (the north part of the Township would not benefit); cost should be levied. say. on Area 2. and many ratepayers in south would not favour the $124.000.00 to $162.000.00 needed debentures; private enterprise would be best solution. (b) Mr. Ryan also stated he lives near Mrs. Mosely. who is improving a very poor house and asks for a kennel licence. He felt she should be granted a kennel licence. RESOLUTION NUMBER 224/63 MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Mowbray. that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for Edwin and Susie Pascoe to convey to Goodwin Farms Limited 148 acres, more or less (and existing farm outbuildings) from their 150 acre farm comprised of parts of Lots 9 and 10. Concession 5. and to retain for themselves a two-acre parcel (dimensions 160' X 544.57') with existing farm dwelling; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board July 2nd, 1963. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2811 Mrs, McPherson, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize the Reeve and Clerk to accept blueprints of certain changes re Canadian National Railway By-Pass at Spruce Hill Road. and that same now be read a first time. Mrs. McPherson. seconded by Mr. Wank. moves that By-Law Number 2811 to authorize the Reeve and Clerk to accept blueprints of certain changes re Canadian National Railway By-Pass at Spruce Hill Road. be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. - 3 - By-Law No. 2811 (Continued) The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Greening. moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2814 be adopted. and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
