A meeting of Pickering Township Council was held on MONDAY. the
TWENTY-SECOND day of JULY. 1963. at EIGHT o'clock p. m.

The following CORRESPONDENCE was considered:
1. Department of Highways of Ontario asks for resolution for hiring
scrapers and bulldozer. See Resolution No. 218/63.
2. Our SOlicitors submit new by-law based on new survey for Town-
ship sale to H.E.P.C. of 10.55 acres industrial lands at
$3,000.00 per acre. See By-Law No. 2809.
3. Dr. Cotnam, Supervising Coroner, advises of recent death of
B. S. Logie, on C. P. R. crossing at Audley Road, and asks for
further comments in view of Coroner's Jury report last Fall.

As all members of Council agreed that sight lines at this crossipg
were extremely good. Clerk asked to find out if Department had '
made a survey to see if the better crossings needed more pro-
tection than poor crossings.

accept the tender of Messrs. Barkey & Scott to rent scrapers and
tractor at $24.00 per hour and D.S bulldozer with 16 feet blade
at $20.00 per hour on the Fifth Concession Line, and that
Resolution No. 205/63 be repealed. CARRIED

BY-LAW NUMBER 2809
Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Wank. moves for leave to introduce a
By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize the Corporation to
sell certain Township industrial lands to the Hydro-Electric Power
Commission of Ontario, and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Deakin. moves that By-Law Number 2809
to authorize the Corporation to sell certain Township industrial lanQs
to the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario. be now read a
second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Spang. moves that the report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2809 be adopted. and that the
said By-Law be, ,now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and
Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed
thereto. CARRIED

a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to provide for the 1963 expen-
ditures on roads in the Township of Pickering in the County of Ontario.
