Johnston, Clerk MOVED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Spang, that Minutes of Meeting held April 20th, be adopted. CARRIED The tollowing CORRESPONDENCE was read: 1. DeDartme~t of A2riculture, advise arrangements are now made whereby tarm animals, killed by Rabies since April 1, 1958, may be paid tor on the basis: County, 2~, Province, 40%, Dominien, 40%. Mr. Sallews, of Frenchman's Bay, stated he puroba.ed his home recently as a house which could be lived in year round, as it had been occupied 12 months in one year. He received notice it could net be lived in more than six months in anyone year. Mr. Cane cheek with Assessment Department. 2. Mr. Peterson, or Recreation Committee, asked Couneil to re-consider their ret.est for $4,000.00 tor 1959 rather than f2,000.00 now in budget. Council asked him to submit a statement ot how their money would be spent, and what they would like to spend in 1959. Mr. Peterson also stated that his Committee were entitled to 5% or Crusader lands, or 34 acres; that the lands proposed to be donated were not suitable ror all their activities as they would need 10 acres ot high level lands on which they could have baseball diamonds, arena and parking space. Mr. Peterson agreed to meet the Planning Board on May 1st. 3. Mr. K. Vizely also spoke on Recreation. He stated '4,000.00 was a small sum ror recreation ror 400 boys and hoped Council could increase their allocation. 4. Walter Lindell, of Colonial Homes, stated they owned S! acres abutting south side Concession 2 in Lot 20. He asked Council's opinion on erecting 30 houses on minimum sized lots tor his employees. These he.ses would have 1000 to 1500 square teet, central water supply, and .central ...age disposal plant. 0/ ./ ./ v v v v v ../ Ii - 2 - 5. Joe Burrows stated he had tor sale a garbage Packer and new International truck, used only sinoe last September, and cost $14,000.00. Could be sold tor $10,000.00. Mr. Burrows agreed to supply all information for next Monday. 1/ 6. Mrs. Mar~aret RaDSey, who owns a home on Lot 7, Ceneession 3, complained about Road Department cutting all the trees on road allowance between Lots 7 and 8, Concession 3, destroying the beauty and leaving ugly long stumps, which are dangerous. Reeve Scott stated this was a narrow travelled road and the cutting was necessary for widening, and that the Road Department would remove stumps when they rotted somewhat. Our Solicitor, Mr. Stevens, presented the revised Crusader Development agreement ·and pointed out all the changes made. As there were several new changes, it was agreed that such agreement should be again presented to Council Monday, May 4th, at 9:30 p. m. Messrs. Tims and McDonald and their Solicitor, Mr. Horgan, were present and agreed to changes in agreement. ,/ 7. ,; RESOLUTION NUMBER 122 MOVED by Miss Swan, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, that the Performance Bond of ¡-30,000.00 deposited by Rouge Highlands be permitted to be reduced to y $15,000.00, providinssuCh firm will lodge with the TOWDShip Treasurer a Maintenance Bond of '30,000.00. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 123 MOVED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Spang, that Tenders be let for the construction of a cement floor at the Dog Pound and the .oving of the building thereon. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 124 MOVED by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Spang, that a notice be printed for distribution by the Dog Catcher warning dog owners that their dog has been seen running at large and that they are subject to a fine ot up to $50.00 on a repeat ottence.
