The following CORRESPONBENCE was read:
1. Mr. Ernest Nerlich has opened an office in Hamburg, Germany. Would like to
promote industry in Pickering Township on a 10% commission on acres sold.
Referred to Industrial Committee.
2. Metro Conservation Authoritv report on "Dutch Elm Disease".
3. Ontario County Health Unit, 1958 Annual Report.
4. Mr. Cane, By-Law Enforcement Officer, recommends that change of use of .
summer cottages t.o year round dwellings be enforced. (By-Law 2016-109 (a).)

Bel~ Gouinlock & Co. advise they wish to take up option to purchase $95,000.00

The followirg PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard:
1. ~1r. Lee asked Council to sell him Lot 4, Plan 594, being 110' X 198'. He
would build a house 26' X 49' for himself.
2. Mr. Redfern submitted a tentative report on a water plant at Moore Point,
a copy of whic~ is on file. In general the plant would be built to supply
5 million gallons, present pumps to pump 2,500,000 gallons and infiltration
plant presently for 1,250,000 gallons daily; within four years an elevated
tank would be built on west side of Dixie Road about 900 feet north of
ITi,ghway 2 at cost of about :~160,000.00. Estimated cost of plant, $560,000. "".
Total cost of water plant and main to a point 3300 feet north of Range Line
on Sandy Beach Road, $750,000.00, less about $50,000.00 due from developer.
Mr. Redfern asked for a defined water area so that actual costs could be
gi ven .
Mr. Redfern submitted plans for West Rouge sewer area, but felt that time
fUrl not permit him to explain. However, he did request permission of
Council to spenrl up to $1,500.00 on boring for plant in Block II, Plan 284.
3. Mr. Havey, who has been operating a taxi in Dunbarton for four years, asked
for a second license.

4. Mr. K. W. Jones, President of West Rouge Rat.epayers' Association, stated
that there were about 1600 persons in West Rouge and at a recent meeting
a vote was taken on question "Are you in favour of the West Rouge applying
to the County Council for its formation into a Police Village?". The vote
was 89 to 9 for. }~. Jones asked Council if they would sign an agreement
with them on the same hasis as that signed by Council with Police Village
of Claremont.

COlmcil did not favour the formation of a Police Village for West Rouge,
ard Clerk was direct.ed to advise them that, at this time, such an agreement
mjght rot be signed.
