A meeting of Pickering Township Council was
held on THURSDAY, the TWENTY-FIRST day of
APRIL, 1966, at the Municipal Building,
Brougham, at TEN-FORTY o'clock p.m.
PRESENT: Reeve C.W. Laycox,
Deputy Reeve J.W. McPherson
Councillors - John Campbell
Ronald Chat ten
John Williams
Douglas J. Plitz, Clerk
A letter from Solicitor James A. Taylor was read
advising that the sale of Part of Lots 147,153,154, A,
D, and K and All Lots 148 to 152, Plan 319 to Frank
T. Ross & Sons (J962) Limited has been completed and
a cheque in the amount of $16,209.00 payable to the
Township was received in payment of the entire purchase.
BY-LAW NUMBER 3143

Councillor Chatten, seconded by Councillor Campbell moves for
leave to introduce a By-law of the Township of Pickering to
authorize the purchase of a parcel of land containing 5 acres
more or less on the east side of a Road Allowance between
lots 24 and 25, Concession 1 from the Kiwanis Club of Dunbarton
and that same now be read a first time.
Councillor Chatten, seconded by Councillor Williams moves
that By-law Number 3143 to authorize the purchase of a parcel
of land containing 5 acres more or less on the east side of a
Road Allowance between Lots 24 and 25, Concession 1 from the
Kiwanis Club of Dunbarton be now read a second time, and that
Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
Councillor Chat ten, seconded by Deputy Reeve McPherson moves
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Number 3143 be adopted, and that the said By-law be now read
a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the
same, and the Ssa1 o£the Corporation be a£fixedthereto.

Councillor Williams, seconded by Councillor Campbell moves
for leave to introduce a By-law of the Township of Pickering
to authorize the sale of an Industrial Site comprising of Lot
24, Concession 1, Township of Pickering to Rootes Motors
(Canada) Limited and that same now be read a first time.
Councillor Williams, seconded by Councillor Chatten moves
that By-law Number 3144 to authorize the sale of an
Industrial Site comprising of Lot 24, Concession 1 Township
of Pickering to Rootes Motors (Canada) Limited be how read
a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the
Whole thereon.

Councillor Williams, seconded by Deputy Reeve McPherson moves
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Number 3144 be adopted and that the said By-law be now read
a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same,
and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
CARRIED.
MOVED by Councillor Williams, seconded by Councillor Campbell
that this meeting now adjourn at 10:55 p.m.
