I PRESENT: C. W. Laycox. in the Chair Mrs. J. McPherson Wm. G. Newman Harvey Spang Hubert Wank John Campbell D. J. PIitz, Clerk ABSENT: Donald Waring The Committee moved into Council to deal with matters of an urgent nature. Because of the urgency with respect to water and sewer installation, time is of the essence, and as a result the fOllowing tenders we~e opened: Contractor Water Sewer Dagmar Construction Ltd. $ 5,410.00 Craftwood Construction Co. No Tender See Resolution389/65 RES~LUTION NUMBER 387/65 MOV:ED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that this Council st~enuously objects to the demolition of the Canadian Pacific Railway Station at Locust Hill, Ontario, and that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Minister of Transport at Ottawa, the Board of Transport Commiss ioners for Canada, and R. A. Eme~son. Esq., President of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 388/65 MOV~D by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Campbell, that the lowest ten~er for water mains and sewer mains for Chesterhill Road be accepted, subject to the recommendation of the Township Engineer. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 389/65 MOVtD' by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that tenders for trJck and snow plow be turned over to the Township Engineer, to re~ort back to Council. CARRIED BY~LAW NUMBER 3069 .~ M~. Campbell, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves for leave to i~troduce a by-law of the Township of Pickering to provide for places for receiving the votes of the electorate and to name Deputy Returning Officers who will act for the 1965 municipal elections, and that same now be read a first time. Mr~ Campbell. seconded by Mr. Newman, moves that By-Law No. 3069 to provide for places for receiving the votes of the~ectorate and to name Deputy Returning Officers who will act for the 1965 municipal elections, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. - 2 - The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Campbell. seconded by Mr. Wank, moves that the report of the Com.ittee of the Whole on By-Law No. 3069 be adopted. and that the saiQ By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation ~ aff~xed thereto.
