A meeting of Pickering Township Council was held on FRIDAY. the
T~ENTY-SECOND day of OCTOBER, 1965. at 7:15 o'clock p. m.

This special meeting of Council was called to open tenders for the
new municipal building.
Mr. Hardy Craig and Mr. Thomas Gunn, representatives of the firm
Craig, Zeidler and Strong, Architects, were present to answer any
question which Council might ask.
The following tenders were opened:

It was explained by Mr. Craig that the various tenders œ sub-tradee
could quite possibly be reduced to bring the figure to what could
be accepted by Council and the Ontario Municipal Board without
returning the question to the electorate, as we are permitted to
exceed the total approved figure for the building by 25%.
It was MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Wank, that Council turn
the tenders on the new municipal building, as submitted by the
contractors, over to the Architects for a complete review and final
submission to Council by November 1st, 1965; the Architects to review
the three lowest tenders. CARRIED
BY-LAW NUMBER 3063 (Two Readings)
Mr. Wank. seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves for leave to introduce
a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize the construction
of sanitary sewers and sanitary sewer connections and watermains
and water service connections on the streets set out herein as
local improvements under the provisions of The Local Improvement Act,
and that same now be read a first time.
Hr. Wank, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves that By-Law~mber 3063
to authorize the construction of sanitary sewers and sanitary sewer
connections and watermains and water service connections on the
streets set out herein as local improvements under thetrovisions
of The Local Improvement Act, be now read a second time and Council
go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
