at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

The following CORRESPONDENCE was considered:
1. Mr. J. t" LUdJZ:ate, Municipal Engineer, advises that his Depart- /
ment wi 1 only approve $5,500.00, plus 10¢ per mile for our
Road Superintendent for grant purposes.
2. Notioe1s given that Miss V. Swan will appeal her 1960 assess-
ment to the Ontario Municipal Board.

1. Mr. Harry Guest, of Southview Drive objected to Council granting
a kennel licence to Mr. Sharpe, as he felt it would depreciate the
value of his property.
MOVED by Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Spang that Mr. Sanham be heard.

2. Hr. Bert Sanham, who asks pennission to build a raCe track on
the east half of Lot 28, Concession 1, submitted his proposal
in writing, and the Council agreed to inspect the property and
report at the next meeting.

application to The Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
to Featherstone Bros. to deed to Mr. and Mrs. Suter a parcel 44'
by 303" to add to the rear of the Suters' present holdings the amount
that- the County of Ontario is taking from the front of their parcel
for the widening of Brock Road (part of Lot 19 Con. 2); as recommended

thereon be 1500 square feet and its setback be at least 40 feet from

application to the Ontario Municipal Board for John E. Regan to deed
the easterly halves of Lots 305 and 302 and the westerly halves of
Lots 307 and 200 to increase the holdings of the owner of Lots 306
and 201, all in Plan 299, Frenchman's Bay Sandbar, and providing in
the deed that no cottage or other dwelling shall be erected on the
land he now wishes to convey; as recommended by the Pickering Town-

for the C. N. R~ access line; as recommended by the Pickering Town-

application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
for Jacob Taylor to deed parts of Lot 4 and Lot 8 and all Lots 9,
10) 11, 12 and 13, according to Plan 98, Claremont Village, to his
son-in-law $nd daughter, Mr. .nd Mrs. George Smith, as one parcell
it being understood that such lands are unsuitable for building upon,
and are being deeded to add to a lot owned by the Smiths and on

MOVED by Mr. Mowbray I seconded by Mr. Spang, that this Council make
application to The Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
for N. J. Lynde to separate a parcel of 2.921 acres from the south-
east comer of his 6S! acres, part of Lot.' 28, Con. 3. This parcel
is required by the H. E. P. C. for a junction of two power transmission
lines; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board.

RESOLUTION NUMBER 149/61
MOVED by Mr. Mowbray seconded by Mr. Spang, that this Council make
application to The Ontario Municipal Board for approval of certain
consents required in remedying a situation involving wrong descrip-
tions due to a survey error of three parcels of land sold by
John Cromie some years ago. In each case the original description
had shown each parcel 100 feet further to the east than its actual
location. These corrections involving no further breaking of land
are the following:
Wiseman to Cromie - deeding back the parcel originally (incorreotly)
described.
Cromie to Wiseman - deed with corrected description of parcel.
Cromie to Harrison - deed with corrected description.
Clark to Cromie - quit claim deed of land described in Clark's
original deed (actually Harrison's parcel).
(a corrected deed, Cromie to Clark, was approved
by the Township Planning Board in October, 1960);
all above as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board
May 5, 1961. CARRIED
RESOLUTION NUMBER 150/61
MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that this Council make
application to The Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
for James McGriskin to convey to his daugh~nd son-in-law a build-
ing lot 75t X 200' from the southeast comer of his 100 acre farm in
Lot 33, Conoession 3, providing a 10 foot strip, dedicated for
widening Altona Roadl is deeded to the Township; all as recommended
by the Pickering Township Planning Board. CARRIED

MOVED by Mr. James seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that this Council make
application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
for Thomas English to deed to the Brougham Cemetery Board the rear
part of his Lot 6, Old Plan, Brougham, lying across the creek from
the part of the lot on which his house sits. This lot now contains
approximately 31" 375 square feet and he would be selling approximate-
ly half to the Cemetery Board which needs this land badly to extend

application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
to Kenneth F. Smith to separate a parcel 200', X 600' with existing
house, from his seven acre parcel - part of the north half of Lot 28
Concession 1 - providing a ten feet road widening strip from the 200'
frontage is deeded to the Township; as reoommended by the Pickering

Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, moves for leave to introduce a
By-Law of the Township of Pickering to adopt the 1961 budget and to
provide for the levying of all non-educational rates against all
Township assessments or area assessments, sufficient to raise the
various monies required in the budget, and that same now be read
a first time.

to adopt the 1961 budget and to provide for the levying of all

By-Law of the Township of Pickering to levy such rates against all
the assessed properties in the Township of Pickering as will be
required to operate the various Public Separate, and High School
Boards and to pay the debentures and interest falling due for
Schools in the year 1961, and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Deakin seconded by Mr. Mowbray, moves that By-Law Number 2613
to levy such rates against all the assessed properties in the Town-
ship of Pickering as will be required to operate the various Public,
Separate and High School Boards, and to pay the debentures and
interest falling due for Schools in the year 1961, be now read a
second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.

Reeve Scott submitted several industrial posters and stated signs
could be installed 8' X 28' for $225.00 each, and recommended four.
