1960, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:
1. Resolution for endorsement - Townshin of Crowland - that annex-
ation legal costs When unsuccessful be borne by the Municipality
starting action. Referred to Finance Committee.
2. PrQject PlanninJr Associate s Limited - In 1957 they agreed to prepare
a comprehensive zoning By-law for whole Township for $7,500.00.
'It was agreed to accept a modified version at $2,200.00. Now cost
of zoning Rouge to Ajax, south of Highway 401 is $1,500.00 plus
O. M. B. fees. All work for Official Plan $3,500.00 to $4,500.00.
3. MetroDolitan Toronto Plannin£ Board request permission to submit
a proposal for an Official Plan to Council and Planning Board
during week of February 15th.
4. ~solutions of Plannin~ Board:
(1) MOVED by Mr. Ritchie, seconded by Mr. Craig, it is recommended
that Council request from H.E.P.C. a memo and charts of the
information in connection with the proposed generating plant
and transmission lines, with copies for both Council and
Planning Board. CARRIED.
(2) MOVED by Mr. Ritchie, seconded by Mr. Davidson, that we meet
with the Metro representatives to discuss the Official Plan~
Friday evening, February 19th, 1960. Carried.
The followin~ PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard:
1. Ifeith Balsjon of Pickering Rod and Gun Club asked that the Con-
$ervation Authority be approached requesting that their control
officers be again permitted to police the area around and outside
~heir park.. See Resolution No. 67/60.

Council request the Metro Conservation Authority to permit the Con-
servation Patrol Officer to patrol the rest of Pickering Township to
enforce game and fish laws. CARRIED

the January" 1960, accounts as prepared and listed by the Treasurer in
the amount of $123,481.88. CARRIED

MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. James, that Council request from
H. E. P. C. a memo and charts of information in connection with proposed
generating plant and transmission lines with copies for both Council

MOVED by Mr. laycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that arrangements be made
with Metro Representatives to convene a meeting at Brougham Municipal
Chambers on Friday evening, February 19th" 1960. CARRIED
RESOLUTION NUMBER 75/60
MOVED by Mr. I.aycox, seconded by Mr. Ashton, that tenders be called
for renewal of all Township insurance and that advertisements be
inserted in the following:
Stouffville Tribune, Pickering News" Ajax Advertiser"
Markham Economist.

BY-lAW NUMBER 2479
Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves for leave to introduce a By-
Law of the Township of Pickering to appoint a Road Superintendent in
the Township of Ficke ring and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. James" seconded by Mr. Deakin, moves that By-Law Number 2479 to
appoint a Road Superintendent in the Township of Pickering be now read
a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the \1hole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Ashton, moves that the report of the Committee
of the Whole on By-law No. 2479 be adopted, and that the said By-Law
be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign
the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixe d the re to. CARRIED
By-law Number 2479 for Department of Highways of Ontario approval.

BY-LAW NUMBER 2480
Mr. Spang, geconded by Mr. Deakin, moves for leave to introduce a By-
Law of the Township of Pickering to make certain changes in the salaries
of the members of the F ire Department and that same now be read a
first time.
Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. James, moves that By-Law Number 2480 to
make certain changes in the salaries of the members of the Fire
Department be now read a second time, and that Council ~o into Committee
of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Lø.w as read.
Mr. Spang seconded by Mr. Laycox, moves that the report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2480 be adopted, and that the
said By-law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and
Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS
1. Clerk arrange meeting of Council members with D. H. O. officials
re their taking over Liverpool Road from Highway No. 2 to Highway
401.
2. Office Manager present bonds on employees to Council on February
15th for approval and call for ten ders on insurance falling due
this Spring, with breakdown of Fleet, Public Liability, Property
and Bonds.
