An Eaergent Meeting of Counoil was held on MONDAY the TWENTY-SEVENTH day
of SEPTEMBER, 1954, commenoing at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

The following PERSONS on MOTION were heard:
Mr. Johnson bought and moved into a garage on Plan 410, Lot 14,
three days ago. The building has been placarded.
AGREED Mr. Johnson must vaoate.
Mr. Ferguson wanted money for painting.
Brian MoCart, owner of Ace Taxi, asked for two extra Taxi Lioenses
to operate from Rouge.
Mr. Griffin, of Griffin's Hotel, discussed a donation towards
paving the 1st Concession west of Altona Road.
D. J. Cowan submitted bids for three gravel walks:
Ajax - 1365 feet - $ 675.00 and culverts
Altona - 33g5 feet - $ 2,475.00 and culverts
Fairport Road North - 6300 feet - $5,g50.00 plus $500.00
for culverts.
> 6. F. S. Barclay submitted a bid for same walks:
Ajax - 1275 feet - $ 674.00 plus oulverts
Altona and Fairport Rd. N.- cost plus 10%
The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:

E. R. Parlmer, Fairport, olaimed he would not permit~an Award
under Ditohes and Watercourse, tile to be laid on his property.
T. M. Moore, asking Counoil to appoint a Valuator for lands to
be expropriated for roaq at Fairport Beach.
AGREED C. E. Morley be asked.
Township of Etobicoke, supporting this Township Resolution re
Commuter Servioe.
~ 4. Central Mortgage and Housing, asking Counoil to submit a price
for whioh we will put sideline between lots 4 and 5, Concession
B.F. R.3, into shape as agreed when D.I.L. took over road in 1941.
AGREED our Road Department has no time for this work so Clerk
advise them of our requirements.

7 MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Counoil grant
two more Taxi Lioenses to Aoe Taxi with approval of Police Chi.èf.
~ MOVED by Mr. Newman, seoonded by Mr. Balsdon, that Reeve and Clerk
be authorized to sign an agre~ent with Rouge Valley Inn Ltd.
whereby the Township agrees to pave Concession 1 between Altona Rd.
and Scarborough Townline with a hard top, and Rouge Valley Inn Ltd.
agrees to pay $5,000.00 over a period of five years as a donation
for this service. CARRIED

Advise Mrs. Phin and Mrs. Adamson of costs of building sidewaihks at
Altona Road and Fai.port Beach north.
Phone Ajax to see if they are willing to furnish culvert pipes
to No.2 Highway.
4.
Again write Department of Highways re their approving our cost
of better approaches to No.7 Highway at Kinsale and Town Line.
Submit arrears October 1st to Council.
Draw Mortgage for part cost of new gravel pit.
Get revised cost of water for Phase No. 1 from Proctor, Redfern
and Laughlin
Prepare new Wrecking By-Law - County By-Law to cover those licenses
to end of year only.
Ask Provincial Engineer to meet Mr. Crooks at Fairport Road North
re drainage.
Have Mr. Schwalm contact Mr. Hart,Concession 2, Lot 29, re dog
claimed to have bitten children.
On MOTION of Mr. Newman, the meeting adjourned.
