A meeting of CeUftcil was held on WEDNESDAY the FIRST day of SEPTEMBER,
1954, at TEN o'clock in the morning.

MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded byk. Lawson, that Minutes of previous
meeting held August 3rd, 1954, be adopted. CARRIED

meeting held August 9, 1954, be adopted. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Balscion, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that Minutes of Emergent

MOVED by Mr. Bálsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Minutes of Eaergent

The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:

i:lrovement District of Aj~, advising of their changing outlet of

Mr. E. R. Pulmer, asking that the Engineer proceed with an Award
under the Ditches and Watercourses Act, that all ratepayers in drainag4
area be assessed their share of the cost and water be channeled down
the roadway.
HortoR, Carr and Haymes, re Parlmer application for a Ditches and
Watercourses Award, advising that he has two alternatives (1) run
a drain through the property of Henderson and Parlmer at a cost
of $ 300.00, or (2) keep drainage on roadways at a cost of $ 800.00.
Village Long Branch approving resolution for better Commuter Service.
Mrs. Robson, Rouge Hills, asking Council to change water drainage on
Toynevale road. Clerk advise that this can be done under Local
Improvement with the owners paying cost.
Mrs. E. Anne Ryan - Petition to have north side of Highbush Trail
road, north end, drained straight to the creek. Council investigate.
Stouffville Tribune - Tender on printing By-Lawsl

Building Parklñg: Lot be gravelled and fenced. CARRIED

case of dumping at Concession 4, Lot 15, be paid $ 5.00 according to
the By-Law. CARRIED

into Oommittee of the Whole to discuss reports rather than have them
discussed in open Council. OARRIED

Tribune for $ 1,500.00 to print our By-Laws be 'accepted. CARRIED

be given to the South Ontario Plowman's Association. CARRIED
~ MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that Glendale Drive in
Plans 489, 492, 521 be declared a built-up area and the Road Department
instructed to post the proper signs. CARRIED
The Reeve appointed Messrs. Balsdon and Newman to view damage of Eric Playfor
Plan 407, Lots 22-23.

1. Report to Weed Inspector that John Anderson, of Dunbarton, and Bert
Woods, of Cherrywood, might be available to cut weeds, and have Mr.
E. G. Baker notify ~. Ellicott of any unemployed employables who
might cut weeds.
Have Mr. Horton and Mr. Parlmer work out most satisfactory method of
getting surface water from Fairview Avenue to Bay.
Write Department of Highways and have their man view erosion onto
lots in North Fairport'Beach from their new By-Pass road.
Have Mr. Ward check bridge on Concession 7 near Edward Wilson's
former farm.
Proceed with subdivision Control By-Law.
Again call for Tenders for sidewalks at North Fairport Road, Altona
Road and Harwood Drive - 3 feet wide, 8n 'top gravel or cinders.
Pickering lews, Stouffville Tribune, and Enterprise.
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Council form itself into
the Court of Revision and deal with appeals against the Supp~entary
Roll and rebates. CARRIED
No apellants present.

at ,200.00 for balance year. Apellant claims assessment too high.

5,125.'0, including business tax for balance year. Mr. Stroud claims
