An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on MONDAY, the FOURTEENTH day of
DECEMBER, 1953, commencing at l0 o'clock in the forenoon.

The Township Solicitor, T. M. Moore, submitted a proposed Z~ninM By-Law
for the Township of Picketing west of the Rouge River, and same was given
two readings. Messrs. Ci J. Dick, A. Bannock, L. Livesay, sat in on the
discussions.
The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:
1. Chief L. E. Hill, advised Council that Constable R. %. Naylor severed
his connection with his Department on December 4th, after allowing for
three Statutory Holidays and eight days' annual leave.
2. Judge MacRae confirmed his and Magistrate Ebb's approval of Constable
Naylor leaving Force.
3. Reeve Todd verbally approved same.
Fines, November, 1953 - $ 380.05
5. Toronto Industrial Commission - thanks grant $ 500.00, and asking
location of water lines.
6. G. W. Ritchie - Civic Administration, thanking Council for prompt action
on "Stop" signs on Altona Road and congratulating the Reeve on the mannel
he conducted his business.
MOVED by Mr. Michell, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Messrs. Lawson and Balsd~
see Mr. William Middleton regarding his requested entrance to his property,
made unuseable by reason of the Township raising the road at this point.
CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that the Public Health Nurse
secure the services of Nurse Goudy, as required, during the three school
terms, and that she be paid $ 5.00 per half day and $ lO.O0 per full day.
CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Michell, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Messrs. Lawson, Balsdon,
and Roy Ward meet J. D. Millar, Deputy-Minister of Department of Highways,
and that Clerk make appointment at l0 A. M. Wednesday, December 16th, if
possible, to meet Mr. Millar and Mr. Prendergast, of the Highway Property
Department. CARRIED
On MOTION of Mr. Newman, the meeting adjourned.

moves for leave to introduce a By-law to zone a
certain portion of Picketing Township, and that
same now be read a FIRST TIME.
Mr. W. G. Lawson, seconded by Mr. W. G. Newman,
moves that By-la~ No to zone a certain
portion of Pickering Township, be now read a
second time, and that the Council go into Committee
of the Whole thereon
