An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on FRIDA_~Y, the FIFTH day of
J NE, 1953.

On MOTION, Mr. Burrows, of Concession 6, Lot 35 was heard:
He asked that he be given, free calcium. Council refused, and suggested
that he purchase it at half price, as do others so situated.
MOVED by Mr. Newman, SECONDED by ~r. Balsdon, that the Agreement between
Picketing Township and Picketing Village as presented, be acceptable
Do Council. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, SECONDED by Mr. Balsdon, that Picketing Village
Fire Agreement, as presented, be acceptable to Council. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, SECONDED by Mr. Balsdon that the Ajax Fire Agree-
ment as presented, be acceptable t~ Council. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, SECONDED by Mr. Lawson that Messrs. Proctor, Redfern
& Laughlin proceed with the South Picketing Water Survey, at the AGREED
price of $950.00. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman, SECONDED by Mr. Michell that the Clerk attend the
Clerk's Convention with expenses paid. CARRIED
Messrs. Lawson and Newman are to report on the Robert Balsdon Road.
Messrs. H.A. Newman, A.E. Calvert, and Joe Edwards of the Industrial
Development Committee were heard:
It was AGREED that arrangements must be made ~.mmediately for
Zoning - Water - Toronto Telephone - Signs - and Explore Powers of
Appropriation of Lands to be sold for Industrial Purposes. Clerk
write Bell Telephone asking when it would be possible to have the
Toronto Telephone Service in the Industrial Area, and get the procedure
of ~and Appropriation from the Township of Scarboro.
It was AGREED to have ~r. Newman arrange for a Meeting of the
Committee and Council with the Clerk of Etobicoke on June 1~, 16 or
17, if it can be arranged.
On MOTION of Mr. Newman, the ~eeting of Council then adjourned. CARRIED
