An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on TUESDAy, the TWENTY-
FOURTH day of MARCH, 1953.
PRESENT: George T. Todd, in the Chair

Hugh G. Michell

Messrs. H. A. Newman and Vaughan Willard of the Industrial Commission
were ~ar~.
~. H. A. Newman reported that he had spent much time on meeting the
proper people. He had contacted Mr. C. L. Burton a nd Mir. Barclay of the
Toronto Industrial Commission. Members of the narbour Commission
and the Department of Industrial Commission. He believed that the
Council should give the Toronto Industrial Commission $500.00 yearly,
and that this would permit a Member to sit on their Board. Mr.
Newman recommended that a deputation meet the Honourable ~. ~nbar,
and get an understanding about any possible annexation of any of ou~
lands by other Municipalities, and that as we have no Tater Services,
we should permit Industry to instal such services as a figure approved
by Council, and that the cost of such service should be refunded
such Industry over a ten year period provided the the taxes were in
access of such a sum.
MOVED by Mr. Newman and SECONDED by ~r. Michell that a Committee
compos®d of the Reeve and Clerk together with a sub Committee of two
Members of the Industrial Committee be formed to meet the Honourable
Mr. Dunbar and discuss with him possibilities of forestalling annex-
ation of any of our Industria~{~m~$,.~$ neighbouring Municipalities,
and the possibility of a~king/*~TTr~l Water Services at an agreed
price, then the Township would refund such cost over a period of ten
years providing the Companies taxes were in access of such costs.
CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Newman and SECONDED by ~[r. gichell that Council seek
Membership in the Toronto Industrial Con~aission at a fee of $500.00
for the balance of the year 1953. CARRIED
Clerk's Instructions
1. Ask the Road Superintendent to get prices on a contract to do
By-Pass Road at Dunbarton and report April 1st, next. See
Messrs. Chapman, Barkey, and ~enary, also any other contractors.
2. Ask Truant Officer Peter A. White to attend the next meeting.
Advise the ~igh School Principal about Truant ~fficer appointment.
Pdvchase a new flag.
It was agreed that the Warble Fly Inspector obtain 2 rubber suits,
and 5 gallons sprayer for clothes, and tires, and start as soon as
possible.
