An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on WEDNESDAY, the ELEVENTH
day 'of MARCH, 1993.

Clerk's Instructions
1. Get advice re: Can a school site .be purchased from the current
operating school board funds, or must it be by a debenture?
2. Ask A~ricultural Representative if one or ~wo men are required
On Warble S~ray'TrUck.
3- Ask ~oad ~uperintendent to ~ive an estimate of cost of taking
over Crescent ~oad, e~t of~Houge River, from a point 120 feet
from ~ouge to Pine ~idge Road.
~.Ask Road Superintendent to grade new hoad from Moore Si~eroad
~o proposed new Dunbarton °chool immediately, if possible.
5. Advise Mr. Andrew band that any inves, tigation into fees for the
P61ice ~ummons must be' dealt with by the Police ~ommission.
A delegation comprising of ~essrs. Frame, Hull, and Ward of Oouth
Picketing Ratepayers association and Messrs. Wood and J. Zodd of
Claremont Legion asked further information regarding the dismissal
of James Griffin. On being told that both men had spoken before
Council on the matter March 2nd, the minutes recorded, and also
their statements, it appeared that the delegation was satisfied,
but that they considered the dismissal poorly timed.

BY-LAW NO. 1952
Mr. W. G. l~!ewman and SECONDED by Mr. W. G. Lawson moves for leave to
introduce a ~v-Law to levy a rate to cover the cost of operation of
the Several F~re Departments and that same be now read a First time.
Mr. W. G. Newman and SECONDED by Mr. C. Balsdon moves that By-Law
No. 1952 to lev? a rate to cover the cost. of operation of the Several
Fire Departments be now read a Second time: and that the Council
go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
Mr. W. G. Newman and SECONDED bE Mr. W. G. Lawson moves that the
Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 1952 be ~dopted,
and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and Passed:
that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the
Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED
BY-LAW NO. 1953
Mr. W. G. Lawson and SEC0~PDED by ~r. C. A. Balsdon moves for leave
to introduce a By-Law to Assess the several Public School Oections
in the Municipality o~ the Township of Picketing, to Provide funds
for the purposes of the said School Sections in the year 1953: and
that same now be read a first time.
Mr. W. G. Lawson and SECONDED by Mr. W. G- Newman moves that By-Law
No. 1953 to Assess the Several Public School Sectionsin the Munici-
pality of the Township of Pickerin~ to provide funds for the purposes
of the said School Sections in the ~ear 1953: be now read a Oecond
time, and that the ~ouncil go into ~ommittee on the ~hole thereon.
Mr. W. G. Lawson and SECONDED by Mr. W. G. Newman moves that the
Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 1953 be adopted,
and that the said Dy-Law be now read a Third time and Passed:
that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the
Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED

Special Purposes in the Police Village of Claremont, in the year
1953: and that the same now be read the ~irst time.

be now read a Second time and that the Council go into Committee of
the Whole thereon.
