BROUGHAM
A meeting of Council was held on FRIDAY, the Wourteenth day of September,
1951, commencing at EIGMT o'clock in the evening.
PRESENT: Reeve W. M. Westnev, in the Chair
Deputy-Reeve N. M. NcMwen
Councillor C. A. Balsdon
Councillor M. B. Burk and
Councillor F. E. Zinkie.

received.

Council to inspect.

Four applicants for position of stenographer *or oreices were interviewed:
1. Mrs. Elsa ~eal, Uxbrid~e - expected ~2,~00.00
2. Mrs. Kathleen Haslem, Stouffville - expected ~2,2;~0.00
3. Mrs. E. M. Denby, Claremont - exnected ~2,400.00
Mrs. Eva Mills, Oshawa - expected (unstated).
MOVED by Dr. McEwen, seconded by Mr. Balsdon that Mrs. Eisa Weal be
emp--~yed as Stenographer at a salary of ~2,~00.00. Carried.
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by ~r. Burk, that the Treasurer make
app-~cation to the Department of Mi~bwa~s for the subsidy on
being the amount spent b~ our Road Department rot period January 1st to
August 31, 1951. Carried.
AGREED that as G. T. Horton,~ O. L. S., of A~ax, required ~40.00 per day
fbr~self and as our By-Law in 1925 appointed ~. ~. J. Oonovao or 0sbawa
at $12.00 per day, no chan~e is to be made at present.
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon that this Council do now adjourn. ~arr~ed
