Messrs Priest and Dancey - asking for better private roads in Picketing Beach. · MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Burk, this Council recommend t-~our County Council Members endorse the paying of $5.00 per ~ day for all indigent hospitalization in Oshawa General HospiSal.OARRIED~ oby Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Er. Burk, that a grant of $25.00 rwarded to Markham Fair Board for 1950. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Todd, seconded by Mr. Zinkie, that the Clerk write a · ~'~r to all Fire Chiefs advising that all fire calls from persons outside'their .area must be from the Fire Chief or his Deputy before -being accepted, and that Telephone Centrals be notified of areas. CARRIEDe MOVED by Mr. Todd, seconded by Mm. Balsdon, that the Clerk write Donevan and Richards, Surveyors, and ask for a proper blue print of Duncan sideline, as deeds are demanded, Clerk has written them several times, and we must have the blue print by August llth next.CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Burk, seconded by Er. Balsdon, that the Toronto Humane ~-6'i-~ty kill all necessary impounded dogs.at 50~ (Fifty Cents) each as per verbal agreement. CARRIED. MOVEDby Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Todd, that continuous culverts be placed in the East ditch of UniversitY~Drive, from Ajax north to William Follows. property, 18 feet free and balance to be charged to Owner s. CARRIED. ~MOVED by Er. Todd, seconded by Er. Burk, that "STOP" signs be erected -~ on the Altona Road at the Eighth Concession (2) on Baseline Road at Station Road, and remove the "Stop" signs on the Station Road. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Er. Burk, that Er. H.A.Newman be given an 18 feet culvert at B.F.R.3, Lot 26, entrance to.house, provided there is any sign of an °ld culvert, (Er. Newman to pay for amy additional footage necessary over the 18 feet.) CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Zinkie, that the Clerk prepare a petition for Westgate Road to be taken over at $300. or less. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Todd, that the Bond for E. G. Baker of $10,000. be renewed for $75.00 with D.A.Beer. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. F.E.Zinkie, ~that application ~'--~de to the Department of Highways for the subsidy on funds spent by the Township of Picketing, Road Department, for the period January 1st, 1950 to July 31st, 1950. CARRIED. CLERK' S INSTRUCTIONS:- le Get Archeson Ward to survey R.C.Reesor sideroad, or recommend someone else to do it. 2. Write Stanley Mann to gravel Beachview Avenue, north eh& of Poplar and Park which were not taken over by the Township. Write Mr. Grant regarding Bub-dividors of property on old ~ns keeping roads in reasonable condition. AGREED that road east of Hugh Squires' gate to sideline be graded and graveled. The Clerk reported that the Toronto Humane Society would kill Township dogs for fifty cents each - that we may use a net but would be liable for possibly broken legs, and that dogs may be killed by electricity, gas, or chloroform. Todd, seconded by Mr. Clare Balsdon, moves for leave to introduce a By-law to take over certain roads in the Village of Fairport, and that same now be read a first time. 2nd Reading Mr. George T.
