PURSUANT TO STATUTE the Members-Elect of the 'Municipal Council of the Township of Picketing met on JANUARY 9th, 1~50, at the hour of ELEVEN O'CLOCK in the forenoon, namely: ~ William H. Frank Disney Deputy-Reeve-elect The Members-elect present having taken the Oath of Allegiance to His Majesty King George the Sixth and the Declaration of Qualificati. on the day of Nomination, took before the Clerk their respective Declarations of Office, and took their seats at the Council Boar~ the Reeve in the Chair. The Reverend Harold Lackey conducte~ the devotional address, and on MOTION of Mr. Burk, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, a vote of thanks was tendered to him. ON MOTION of Mr. Burk, seconded by Mr. Todd, the MINUTES Of the December 1st, 1949 meeting were approved. ON MOTION of Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Todd, the MINUTES of the December 2~th, 1949, were approved. A discussion arose regarding the chairmen of the various committees so 'that it was left for a later date. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seco4ded by Mr. Burk, that the Motion :- "Moved by Mr. BUrk, seconded by Mr.Balsdon, that the east 33 feet of sideline between Lots 26 and 27 (north half) in the Third Concession, be deeded to Mr. Henderson for $25.00. Carried." passed December 1st, 1949, be rescinded. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Todd, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that Council $ccept the resignation of J.M.Blackweil, as Assessor. CARRIED ON MOTION, Mr. 0STERHOUT was heard. He again asked that he be permitted to purchase a portion of the sideline between Lots 26 and in the north kalf of the Third Concession, namely, the west 16~ ft of the east 33 ft of said sideroad, or all of east. 33 ft if possible Council stated they wanted further information on the matter before taking any action. ~ Stover 120' ~ Henderson 120 rods~ Reesor 100 rods ~ 0sterhout ~¥~AW Mr. M. B. Burk, seconded by Mr. C. ~ Balsdon, moves for leave to ~$~$ introduce a By-law to appoint an Assessor for the Township of Picketing, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. M.B.Burk, secgnded by Mr. C.A.Balsdon, moves that By-law No.1808 to appoint an Assessor, be now read a second time, and that the Coun~ go into Committee of the whole thereon. Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. C.A.Balsdon, moves that the Report of ~ Committee of the whole on By-law No. 1808 be adopted, and that the s~ By-law be now read a THIRD TIME and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. C~ -2- BY-LAW 1798 Mr. M.B.Burk seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves for leave to introduce a By-law to take over as a Public Township Road OAKMOUNT DRIVE in Plan 350, Rouge Hills, and that same be read a first time. Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves that By-law No. 1798 to take over as a Public Township Road OAKMOUNT DRIVE in Plan 350, Rouge Hills, be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the whole thereon. Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves that the Report of the Committee of the whole on By-law No. 1798 be adopted, and that the said B~-law be now read a THIRD TIME and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED. BY-LAW NO. 180~ M~. George Todd, seconded by Mr. Cla~e Balsdon, moves red. leave to introduce a By-law to appoint a Weed Inspector, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. George Todd, seconded by Mr. Clare Balsdon, moves that By-law No. 1805 to appoint a Weed Inspector, be now read a second time and that the Council go into Committee of the whole thereon. ' Mr. George Todd, seconded by ~. Milton B. Burk, moves that the Report of the Committee of the whole on By-law No. 1805 be adopted, and that the said By-law be now read a THIRD TIME and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED. BY-LAW NO. 1806 Mr. Clare Balsdon, seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves for leave to introduce a~By-law to appoint Pound Keepers and Fence Viewers, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Clare Balsdon, seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves that By-law No. 1806 to appoint Pound Keepers and Fence Viewers, be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of ~the whole thereon. Mr. Clare Balsdon, seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves that the Report of the Committee of the whole on By-law No. 1806 be adopted, and that the said By-law be now read a THIRD TIME and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED. BY-LAW NO. 1804 Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. C.A.Balsdon,~moves for leave to introduce a By-law to apPoin$ a Valuer of Sheep, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. C.A.Balsdon, moves that By-law No. 1804, to appoint a Valuer. of Sheep, be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the whole thereon. Mr. M.B.Burk, seconded by Mr. C.A.Balsdon, moves that the Report of the Committee of the whole o~ By-law No. 180~ be adopted; that the said By-law be now read a TPKIRD TIME and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED. At 2 P.M. word was received of the death of E. Frank Disney, Deputy-Reeve-Elect.
