BROUGHAM
An Emergent Meeting of Council was held in the Municipal Offices
on SEPTEMBER 22nd, 1949~ at 7.30 o'clock in the evening·
Ail Members of Council were present, the Reeve in the Chair.
The employees of the Township attended and heard Mr. C.E.Morley
and Mr. Aird of Imperial Life Assurance Company, outline a plan
for Township Employees' pensions· This plan set out the
Township costs and monthly pensions at ages 60 and 65.
A Government Annuities Plan was also presented as prepared by Mr.
Thomas G. Hills·
It was agreed the Clerk should have Mr. Hills meet the Council
and explain his proposals as soon as possible.
It was agreed that the "Pick. ring News" should print the Planning
Board's Survey and mail to approximately 2,800 rat.payers f~
about $70.00·
The Police Department were heard and asked for :-
1. J.B.Irvine - increase in salary, from $2,250. to $2,600.
F~edWhite - increase from $2,100..to $2,400.
2. An office in Pick, ring Village·
3. Overtime for 1949.
MOVED. by Mr. Disney, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that no increase

MOVED by Mr. Disney, seconded by Mr. Burk, that an effort be
ma---~.eto locate a police office in Picketing Village, 0ARRIED.
