All members present, the Reeve in the chair. The minutes were presented and on mot&on of Mr. Burk seconded by Dry. McEwen, approved. The following correspondence was read: 1. County Clerk re hospitalization Carol Marshall, Ajax. Accepted. 2. County Clerk re hospitalization James Hettle, Dunbarton.Aocepted. 3. C.P.R. advising that a census of traffic on Greenwood Road where ~ Cortes- it crosses C.P.R. tracks did not warrant the expenditure of light~ pon~enoe or extensive earth, removal for sight lines so recommended the cut~ing of brush, and. signs .$00 feet on each side of track. 6. ¥~s.. Moved by NLr.Balsdon, seconded by ~r.-~lsney tha~ permission be Motions granted'to Everett Defoe to live in a building wlt~aout wheels and be classed as a trailer providing that within two weeks he would have wheels on same. Carried. At the request of mover and seconder the motion was withdraw~. Moved by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Dr. McEwen, th~ Road Superintendent get end eretria number-of, signs, one set to be used 300 feet on each side of C.P.R. tracks on Greenwood Road. Carried. A motion to dismiss the policemen of Pickering Township ~y Dr. McEwen did not reeeive-a secon&er. Moved ~y Mr. Burk, seconded by Mr. Disney, that motion passed by Council to purchase a No. OlE Adams Grader, on October 4, 19A8, be rescinded in favour of the former motion to purchase the No. "~10 Adams Diesel i~otor Grader, stock model complete with plow and~.wing, heater and d~froster fan, special light and wing light, chains, Jack tools etc. tE0,A~9.00". Carried. -2- Motions' Moved by Dr. McEwen, seconded by Mr. Disney, that Reeve and Clerk Be authgrized to sign on behalf of Council an agreement whereby Pickerlng Township will-pay $45.00 toward the cost of a draimage ditch in lots 19-20-~1, Concession l, as its share of west as estimated by }~iessrs. Donevan & Richards, 0.L.S. Carried. McEwen, moves for leave to introduce No. a By-law, to appoint a Road Superintendent in the Township of 1755 Pickering, confirming By-law No. 1739 on proper form, and that re same now.~e read a first time. Bals~on, seconded by Dr. McEwen moved that By-law No. 1758 to Road appoint a Road Superintendent in the Township of Pickering, be now Supt'd. read.a second time and that Council go into committee of~the whole thereon. Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Dr. McEwen, moves that the report of the committee of the whole on By-law No. 1758 be adopted and that the said By-law be now read a third time, that the same do now pass, that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same~ and th~ the seal of the Corporation ~e afTixed thereto.
