A special meeting of Council was bemld in Council Chamber on
July 20, 1948, all members present, Reeve Westney in the chair.
The'followiag correspondence was read:
Corres- 1. J. D. Niller, Deputy Minister of Highways regarding 6onnecting
pondence' links between Highways 2 and 2A and service roads.
2-. Dept. of Game and Fisheries complaint re our Road Superintend-
ent interfering with their men while sto~king'Greenwood Creek.
5. Mr. Dand, request for township gravel for private use.
The following persons on motion were heard:
Persons 1. A. M. Reavie requesting Township to take over Rougemount Road
'Heard 'in Plan 550.
2. F. J. Prouse, Building Inspector, re additions to Building
By-law.
5. J. B. Irvine and Fred White, re poli~e work.
Moved by ~r. McEwem, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that Clerk arrange for
an appointment between members of Council and the Ninister of High-
Notions ways and engineer as soon as possible regarding connecting roads
between Highways Nos. 2 and 2A and By-pass roads. Carried.
Moved by Nr. Balsdon,seconded by Nr. Burk that our Police Officers
be asked to appear before Council at this meeting. Carried.
Moved by Dr. NcEwen, seconded by ~r. Balsdon that Chief of Police
Irvine and Constable White tender a report monthly to Council re-
garding mileage data, convictions and investigations. Carried.
Noved by Dr. ~cEwen, seconded by Mr. Balsdon that Civic Holiday,
August 2, 1948, be declared a public hoiiday in the Township of
Pickerlng. Carried;
Mr. Clare Balsdon, seconded by Dr. N. E. NcEwen, moves for leave to
B~-law introduce a B~-law to amend By-law No. 1745, and that same now be

Mr. M. B. Burk, seconded by Mr. C. E. Balsdon, moves for leave to
By-law introduce a By-law for the further regulation of the construction,

By-law Mr. M. B. Burk, seconded by. Dr. N. E. McEwen, moves for leave to
