1. Welcome
T. Ryce welcomed all and starting the meeting at 7:05 pm
identifying that the meeting does not reach quorum and
therefore no motions will be made this evening.
2. Approval of Minutes & Agenda
Committee accepted the agenda with the amendment of
Heritage Assets Promotions Plan being presented by T. Ryce
and not S. Christie
Committee accepted the May minutes as written.
3. Heritage Assets Promotions Plan
T. Ryce started a discussion around the Heritage Assets
Promotions Plan

4. Public Art Program Update
T. Ryce provided an update on the Public Art Program
Community Engagement has a consulting budget of $15,000.00
for Public Art
By August – must define funding source and an outline for a
public art pieces for the new fire station.

Cultural Committee to comment
Top 3 to go to CAO and Council
Requesting Procurement Policies from other municipalities
Best practices
T. Ryce handed out information on Commissioning Public Art –
Highlights from Toronto, Ottawa and Brampton.
J. Sabean suggested J. St. Amant look into Ajax’s policies
T. Ryce led a brainstorming on Concept Words to be used:
Pickering culture
History
Place making History – Relevant Site History – Hamlets
