Pickering Rod & Gun Club, be heard.
Mr. Morgan read from a prepared brief dealing with the effects
of spraying against mosquitoes in the Frenchman's Bay area,
pointing out that to kill mosquito larvae in the water also
destroys the food chain of many other forms of life, including
fish. (See brief on file)
Mr. Morgan oIidvised that he has been advised by the Ontario Water
Resources Commission, Denartment of Lands and Forests, and the
Conservation Authority th9t they have not authorized the spraying
of Frenchman's B~. However, the Clerk advised that he had it
on good authority that to use the chemical (abate) would not be
permitted as the application was submitted to the authorizing
Government agency too late to be effective, but that to spray
the adult mosquitoes with adulticides would be permitted, and
that this spraying should be done in mid-June and again in mid-
July to be effective.
