of February 28th 1977, be tabled and that the East
Shore Community Association be requested to explore
a proposal for signs at the Community Centre and
Library on Liverpool Road and that an es'timate of
cost be presented to Council.

By-Law Number 562/77
Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Cahill
moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town
of Pickering to authorize the execution of a Site
Plan Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering and Robert Philip Jones with respect to
Part Lot 29, Plan 228, Town of Pickering (LD 318/76)
and that same be now read a first, second and third
time and that the same be now finally passed and thàt
the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the
Corporation be thereto affixed.

By-Law Number 566/77 - Two Readings Only
Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Matheson
moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of
Pickering to appoint a Community Centres Board to
manage and administer certain Community Centres and
Athletic Fields within the Community Recreation Centres
Act Regulation madè:~ereunder, and that same now be
read a first and second time, and the Council go into
Committee of the Whole thereon.

Cahill that the By-law be tabled in second reading.

Councillor Anderson, seconded by Councillor Fisher
moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town
of Pickering to appoint Valuers of Live Stock and
Poultry in the Town of Pickering, and that same be
now read a first, second and third time and that the
same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and
Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation
be thereto affixed.

By-Law Number 568/77
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson
moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of
Pickering to appoint members to the Town of Pickering
Public Library Board, and to repeal By-law Number 362/76,
and that same be now read a first, second and third
time and that the same be now finally passed and that
the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of
Pickering to amend By-law 266/75 limiting the number
of automobile service stations and public garages,

time and that the same be now finally passed and that
the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

and that same be now read a first, second and third
time and that the same be now finally passed and that
the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

Ministry of Tranportation and Communications -
Subsidy - Confer Resolution #38/77
Notice of Motion
Councillor Kitchen requested that his Notice of Motion
relative to Water and Sewer Billing should be dealt
with in Council.
Presentations for Sports Complex - Architects
It was noted that the architects will be making their
presentations on March 8th 1977 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
It was agreed that the presentations would be open to
the news media if the media took an oath of secrecy
until after the last presentation.
MOTION
Moved by Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor
Kitchen that the press be invited to the presentations
of the architects on March 8th 1977 and that they be
sworn to secrecy until after the fifth presentation.

Operation Update - 1090 U.A.W. Ajax & G.R.S. Operators
It was noted that the West Shore Community Centre was
donated for a dance on March 25th 1977; other organizations
are also contributing to this project. The proceeds
of the Pickering Panthers' Bingo on March 30th 1977,
will be split 50/50 between the minor hockey and the
hospital project. On this occasion the jackpot of
$1,000.00 must go.
Telephone Number - Police
It was noted that the reason for the change in the
Police telephone number was to allow more flexibility
in allotting other numbers. The question was raised
whether a three digit emergency number could not be
obtained.

OTHER BUSINESS
Sunoco Station - Bay Ridges Plaza
It was noted that this service station is vacant at
the present time.
Sale of Maps - Second Bay Ridges Scout Group
The question was raised whether maps of Pickering
by the 2nd Bay Ridges Scout group could -
be sold-at the counter in the municipal building.
The request will be submitted to the Treasurer.
Signs - Whites Road and Highway #2
The question was raised whether the signs put up
by developers at the intersection of #2 highway
and Whites Road have been checked by the By-law
Officer.

Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of
the Corporation be thereto affixed.

RAILWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY
That the matter between Mr. and Mrs. Lusted and the
Runnymede Development Corporation relative to the
railway spur in the Brock Industrial Area be deferred
two weeks to allow time for settlement between the
two parties.
RE-NAMING OF SHEPPARD AVENUE WEST OF ALTONA ROAD
That Sheppard Avenue, west of Altona Road, be re-named
Twyn Rivers Drive and that the appropriate action be
taken to implement this recommendation.

That Draft Plan of Subdivision 18T-76062 by Jack
Jacobsen Construction Limited in respect to lands on
the south side of Finch Avenue, east of Dixie Road
and west of Glendale Drive, be APPROVED, subject to:-

The development of this plan shall be the subject
of an amendment to Restricted Area By-law 3036,
as amended, to implement the Official Plan to
provide for the following:-
The existing "A" (Agricultural zone) be substituted

RESOLUTION - CITY OF NANTICOKE

That the report of the Town Solicitor dated February 22nd
1977, dealing with the request of one of the owners of

Auto Centre, be adopted and that the Town Licensing By-'
law be amended to reflect this change.
