1. Adoption of Minutes of the Meeting of February 9th, 2000
Moved by Al Goodall that the minutes of the meeting of February 9th, 2000 be
adopted as circulated.

2. Actions Arising from Minutes
a) Economic Impact Study
Andy Keir, representing the consulting firm involved in the Economic Impact
Study provided an overview of the study and distributed copies of the Executive
Summary. (Copies of the summary and his overheads are included)
b) Site Overview Update
John Froats, provided an update on unit shutdowns and advised of the following:

P7 Outage Major Programs:
inspections of fuel channels and boilers
replace flux detectors
2 turbine inspections
EQ inspections
EC1 Screens
RB1 pressure test
maintenance
about 6,000 tasks to complete
Overview of Significant Activities:
1 in 10 year outage to take place in September
- inspection teams getting ready
- trailers are arriving on site
preparing for electricity market opening
Neighbourhood Walk Program taking place
- visiting homes in the area to answer questions
- over 5,000 homes have been visited
Open House taking place on July 12th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
WANO review taking place on December 5th
Report Card:
(a copy of the report card is attached.)
c) Environmental Assessment Update
Kurt Johansen provided an update on the Environmental Assessment of Pickering
A Return to Service. (Copies of the overheads and an information brochure are
provided.)
d) Calendar of Events
Pat O’Brien advised that the door to door campaign is to be completed by the end
of June. He further advised that the Open House will take place on July 12th.
6. Other Business
a) Correspondence was received from Durham Nuclear Awareness requesting that a
number of issues be addressed at an upcoming meeting. The representative of
Durham Nuclear Awareness concurred with the Committee that these issues
would be dealt with at the September 13th meeting. (A copy of this
correspondence is attached.)

b) Karen requested a copy of Mr. Jack Gartley’s, Peer Review Report. (A copy of
this report is attached.)
7. Next Meeting
September 13th, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pickering Nuclear Generation Station
Information Centre
