Councillor Robertson pointed out that the Humane Society
does not accept new born pups. Councillor Spratley will
take this up at a meeting of the Humane Society.
Councillor Searle asked whether the Federal Government
was obliged to take out demolition permits at the Airport
Si te. There does not seem to be any reason why they would
be exempt from taking out a demolition permit. There was
no legal opinion available on the matter.
Councillor Kitchen queried what the Municipality can
do about real estate agents who do not give the correct
figures of taxes for houses. It was pointed out that a
distinction must be made between old and new houses.
Old houses already have an assessment established and
taxes have been applied the previous year, but many of
the new houses have not as yet been assessed. The Deputy
Clerk was asked to check into the matter to see what
can be done.
