SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on
Monday, June 11th 1979 at 9:50 P.M.
PRESENT:
Mayor J. Anderson
COUNCILLORS:

ALSO PRESENT:

This Special Meeting of Council was called to ratify the
action's of the Executive Committee Meeting of May 28th 1979
and to consider the following by-laws:
a)
By-Law Number 1002/79 to rezone property on Block Z,
Plan M-1058.
b)
By-Law Number 1003/79 to exempt certain lots in Plan M-1162
from part lot control.
c)
By-Law Number 1004/79 to authorize the execution of a
lease agreement with J.D.S. Investments Limited,
pertaining to the Pickering Corporate Centre.
(I)
DELEGATION
Mr. Bruce Freeman, Bramalea Limited, was present to
speak to By-law Number 1002/79. He requested that
this by-law be amended to permit a .3 meter side yard
setback asê-J2Pçsed to a zero lot line.

That the Executive Committee Report dated May 28th 1979, be
adopted with the following amendments:
Item #1 was deferred until the Council Meeting of June 18th 1979.

BY-LAWS
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved
for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:
By-Law Number 999/79
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area
By-law 2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan
of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region
of Durham, on Pa~of Lots 64 and 65 Plan 350, in the Town
of Pickering.
By-Law Number 1000/79
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area
By-law 2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan
of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region
of Durham, in Part Lot 30, Range 3, Broken Front Concession,
in the Town of Pickering.
By-Law Number 1001/79
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area
By-law 2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan
of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region
of Durham, in Part Lot 30, Range 3, Broken Front Concession,
in the Town of Pickering.
~-Law Number 1002/79
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area
By-law 3036, as amended, and to implement the Official Plan
of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region of
Durham, on Block Z, Plan M-1058, in the Town of Pickering.
By-Law Number 1003/79
Being a By-law to exempt certain parts of Plan M-1162 from
part lot control.
By-Law Number 1004/79
Being a By-law to authorize the execution of an Offer to
lease from J.D.S. Investments Limited, certain premises
in the Pickering Corporate Centre.
THIRD READING
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-laws
Numbers 999/79, 1000/79, 1001/79, 1002/79, 1003/79 and
1004/79, be adopted with the following amendments:
By-Law 1002/79 was amended by permitting .3 meters and 1.5
meter side yard setbacks.
By-Law 1004/79 was amended by deleting section 2 of the
by-law and sustitùting the following:
"If the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board is required,
this By-law shall not take effect until it is so obtained."
and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED
and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of
the Corporation be affixed thereto.
CARRIED
By-laws read a first, second and third time and finally passed.

By-Law Number 1005/79
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved
for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering
to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the 11th day
of June 1979, and that same be now read a first, second and
third time and that the same be now finally passed and that
the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the
Corporation be thereto affixed.
CARRIED
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed.

That By-law 971/79 is in conformity with the
Official Plan of the Region of Durham and in

by Council nor approved by the Ministry of Housing
since the passing of said by-law 971/79 in which
the said by-law would not be in confonftity.
