That staff be directed to prepare an amendment to By-law 778/78
(Driveways) to prohibit any more than one curb cut on any corner
residential property and to prohibit any curb cut that is danger-
ously close to an intersection.

Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved for
leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:
By-law Numþer 983/79
Being a by-law to repeal By-law 2151 providing for the inclusion
of poultry under The Livestock Protection Act, R.S.O. 1950,
chapter 107.
By~law Number 984/79
Being a by-law to authorize the execution of a Site Plan
Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
and Ronald Morris Lewis and Marilyn Joan Lewis with respect
to Lots 2 and 9, Plan 230, Pickering.
By-law Number 985/79
Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 266/75 limiting the
number of service stations and public garages.
By-law Number 986/79
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area By-law
2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of
Pickering District Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Part
Lot 20, Range 3, Broken Front Concession, in the Town of
Pickering.
THIRD READING
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved that
the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers
983/79, 984/79, 985/79 and 986/79 be adopted, and that the
said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the
Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation
be affixed thereto.

OTHER BUSINESS
1.
Councillor Cahill stated that Mr. Bruce Handscomb,
President of the West Shore Ratepayers Association
was taken to hospital today.
2.
Councillor Kitchen stated that incorrect informa-
tion about public services was being circulated
by private firms and asked if the Town could
embark on a method to circulate proper information.
3.
Mayor Anderson announced the following schedule
for summer meetings:
Tuesday, July 3,1979
Monday, July 30, 1979
Meeting of June 4,1979 is cancelled.

CONFIRMATION BY-LAW
By-law Number 987/79
Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Cahill moved for
leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm
the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering at its meeting held on the 7th day of May, 1979,
and that same be now read a first, second and third time and
that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and
Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be
thereto affixed.
CARRIED
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed.

1978 TRANSIT SUBSIDY

That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to petition
the Minister of Transportation and Communications
for a further subsidy in the amount of $4,900
for 1978 transit expenditures pursuant to The
Public Transportation and Highway Improvement
Act.

Whereas Section 636a of the Municipal Act as
enacted by Statutes of Ontario, 1973, c.124,
transfers the responsibility for the hearing
of the applications for cancellation, reduction

AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications
have been received by the Clerk of the Municipality
for the cancellation, reduction and refund of
taxes for various reasons;
AND WHEREAS upon investigation and receipt of
