That the Report of the Executive Committee dated
March 28th 1978, be adopted.

That By-law 770/78 is in conformity with the
Official Plan of the Town of Pickering approved and
in force at the time said By-law was passed, namely
the 6th day of March 1978;
, .
And that no further Official Plan has been proposed
by Councilor approved by the Ministry of Housing
since the passing of said By-law 770/78 and which
said by-law would not be in conformity, including
the District Planning Area, Region of Durham which
was adopted by Council on February 17th 1975 and
recommended to the Region of Durham for approval.

Whereas Section 636a of the Municipal Act as
enacted by Statutes of Ontario, 1973, c.124
transfers the responsibility for the hearing
of the applications for cancellation, reduction
or refund of taxes to the Council of the Municipality;
AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications
have been received by the Clerk of the Municipality
for the cancellation, reduction and refund of
taxes for various reasons;
AND WHEREAS upon investigation and receipt of
reasonable explanations all claims have been
substantiated;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of the
Town of Pickering accept the following list of
applications and authorize the adjustment of taxes
to be made accordingly.

That the tender T-4-78 for the supply of Granular
"A" for maintenance submitted by J .B. Regan Co., Ltd.,
in the amount of:
$2~90/ton delivered (tractor trailer)
$3.25/ton delivered (tandem)
$1.50/ton picked up
be accepted subject to material testing and approval
by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

That the Council of the Town of Pickering hereby
requests an allocation of subsidy funds for
public transportation in the amount of $4,856.25;
And that the said funds shall be expended on public
transportation in accordance with the Public Trans-
portation and Highway Improvement Act.

moved for leave to introduce By-law of the Town of
Pickering:
By-Law Number 778/78
To regulate the construction of driveway entrances
upon highways under the jurisdiction of the Town of
Pickering and to repeal By-law Number 196/75.
By-Law Number 785/78
To dèdicate certain lands as a public highway pursuant
to Section 443 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O., 1970,
chapter 284 (Part Lot 18, Range 3, B.F.C., being Part 3,
Plan 40R-1986).

By-Law Number 786/78
To amend By-law 112/74 regulating self-serve
gasoline facilities.
By-Law Number 787/78
To appoint a Community Centres Board to manage and
administer certain Community Centres and Athletic
Fields within the Community Recreation Centres Act
Regulations made thereunder.
By-Law Number 788/78
To amend Restricted Area By-law 781/78 which implements
the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering District
Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Part Lot 28,
Concession 1, Town of Pickering.
By-Law Number 789/78
Being a Restricted Area By-law to implement the
Official Plan of the Region of Durham Planning Area,
in Part Lot 29, Range 3, Town of Pickering.
By-Law Number 790/78
To authorize the execution of an Agreement between
Orangebrook Developments Limited/Ba11ycroy Investments
Limited and the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
respecting the completion of roadworks on Orangebrook
Court (Part Lot 18, Range 3, B.F.C., Part 3,
Plan 40R-1986).
By-Law Number 791/78
To amend By-law 3803/70,protecting, managing,
regulating, governing and controlling all public
park lands and Community Centre premises under the
äuthority of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering.

To authorize the execution of a Licence Agreement
between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and
Albrecht Kleiner respecting part of the Rosebank
Road South and Bella Vista Drive road allowance
(505 Bella Vista Drive - Lot 23, Plan 233).

Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Robertson
moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole
on By-law Numbers 778/78, 785/78, 786/78, 787/78,
788/78, 789/78, 790/78, 791/78 792/78 be adopted,
and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time
and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the
same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed
thereto.

By-Laws read a first, second and third time and
finally passed.

NOTICE OF MOTION FROM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
MEETING OF MARCH 28th 1978
Moved by Councillor Geraghty
Seconded by Councillor Robertson
That a by-law be prepared to prohibit defecation
by dogs in the Town of Pickering.

(V)
OTHER BUSINESS
1.
Councillor Robertson requested that the police be
advised that there is excessive loitering in the
plaza at the corner of Liverpool Road and Krosno
Boulevard, and that parking on Krosno Boulevard
near this intersection must be enforced.
2.
Councillor Robertson congratulated the Blue Dolphin
Swim Club on their successful swim-a-thon held on
April 1st 1978, in which $5,000.00 was raised.

Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor
Geraghty moved for leave to introduce a By-law of
the Town of Pickering to confirm the proceedings
of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering at its meeting held on the 3rd day of
April 1978, and that same be now read a first,
second and third time and that the same be now
finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign
the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be
thereto affixed.

finally passed.
