The Minutes of the Meeting of March 3, 1980 were adopted

1.
Mr. Chiavatti addressed Council with respect
to Item #6 of the Planning Committee Report and
asked to approve the application for rezoning
submitted by V. & K. O'Carroll on the south side
of Kingston Road. He indicated that the owners
of the Tee-Pee Drive - In were not prepared to
sell any land to the O'Carrolls and that 22 feet
of the subject property fronting on Kingston
Road was lost when this road was widened.

2.
Nr. Bruce Freeman, representing Bramalea Limited,
addressed Council with respect to By-law 1101/80
and asked that six properties now zoned "Sl"
be amended to an "S2" zoning. This amendment
will permit the 2 lots on the corner of Strouds
Lane and the proposed street to be larger.
3.
Mr. John Cherry, Regional C.U.P.E. Representative,
addressed Council with respect to the motion
regarding garbage collection at 1210 Radom Street.
He stated that the Union should have been notified
that this matter was to be considered in accord-
ance with the verbal commitment given by the
Negotiating Committee. He felt that the condominium
would be better served by Town employees than
a contracted firm and that the proposed motion
could set a precedent.

Councillor Stoner, seconded by Councillor Dickerson moved
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Numbers 1101/80, 1102/80,1103/80, 1104/80 and 1105/80
be adopted, with the following amendment:
By-law 1101/80, was amended by altering the schedule to
the By-law to permit six lots on the proposed street to
have an "S2" zoning as outlined in the map submitted by
the representative of Bramalea Limited.
And that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and
PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and
the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

By-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.

OTHER-BUSINESS
1.
Councillor Stoner requested that all available
fill east of Brock Road and north of Concession
3 Road be replaced in the Salem Cemetery.
2.
Councillor Stoner requested further information
on a resolution passed by the Borough of Scarborough
in regards to Seaton and commended Mr. Greenspan
and the Pickering Coalition of Ratepayers on
their submissions regarding Seaton.
3.
Councillor Stoner reported that the barrier at
the west end of Everton Road was not removed
for snow plowing purposes and the abutting home-
owner was hardshipped by this.
5.
Councillor Stoner reported that the culvert under
Westney Road doesn't connect to the ditches on
the west side of the road beside the school and
asked that this problem be investigated.

That Item #6 of the Planning Committee Report
which was lost at the Council Meeting of March
17, 1980 and reads as follows:

Councillor Kitchen requested that the following
motion be considered by the Executive Committee
on March 24,1980:
"That with respect to the enforcement of the
zoning by-laws, some consideration be given to
Mrs. Theresa Crossey in regards to the length
of time required for her to remove her hairdressing
salon on Liverpool Road."
7 .
Councillor Cahill challenged certain statements
made by Councillor Kitchen with respect to the
nuclear power plant.
8.
Councillor Cahill asked that the subdivision
agreement with Heldor Developments include a
clause which will alert prospective homeowners
that semi-detached dwellings are linked underground
and must not be construed as single family homes.

to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation

third time and that the same be now finally passed and
that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

WEST SIDE OF LIVERPOOL ROAD

That the Council for the Town of Pickering request
the Council for the Regional Municipality of
Durham to modify Amendment Number 5 to the District
Plan for the District Planning Area of Pickering
(The Liverpool Community Plan) in the following
manner:
1.
Revise Schedule IlIA by incorporating the
change indicated on the attached revised
version of that Schedule.

2.
Insert a new Section 3 B (c) which reads
as follows:

"The Local Central Area designated north
of Finch Avenue on the west side of Liverpool
Road shall not be permitted to contain more
than 929 square metres of gross leaseable
floor area.
