COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held
on Tuesday, July 22, 1980 at 11:30 a.m.

Councillor Stoner - (vacation)
The purpose of this Special Council Meeting was to consider
a request from the Greenwood Ratepayers' Association to
hold a Beerfest in connection with the History-in-Action
festivities for the weekend of September 13, 1980. The
L.L.B.O require 30 days' notice after the passage of a
Resolution of Council in order to grant a special occasion
permit.
The second item was to consider passing a by-law lifting
part-lot control on Block "A" in the Amberlea Subdivision.

Moved by Councillor Cahill
Seconded by Councillor Matheson
That the request of the Greenwood Ratepayers' Association
to hold a Beerfest in connection with the History-in-Action
festivities scheduled for the weekend of September 13,
1980, be approved, subject to the approval of the Liquor
Licence Board of Ontario;
and that the portion of Concession 6 Road which is situated
in the hamlet of Greenwood be closed to facilitate a parade
on September 13, 1980, for History-in-Action Day.

BY-LAWS
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved
for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:
By-law Number 1164/80
Being a by-law to exempt certain parts of Plan M-1165 from
part lot control.
THIRD READING
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Fisher moved
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Numbers 1164/80 be adopted, and that the said By-laws be
now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor and
Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be
affixed thereto.
CARRIED
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.
