COUNCIL MINUTES
A Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on Monday, March
11, 1985 at 7:30 p.m.

That the Executive Committee Report dated February 25, 1985, be
approved.

That Tender Number T-7-85 submitted by Capital Bus Sales Ltd., for
the supply of two Handi-Trans vehicles in the amount of
$93,274.62, be approved.

As heavy vehicular and pedestrian volume and safety problems can
be expected at the intersection of Liverpool Road and the proposed
Highway No. 401 off ramps, the Region of Durham be urged to
request the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to
install traffic control signals in conjunction with the
construction of this intersection

Whereas Krosno Boulevard has been reconstructed under the Roads
Repair programme for two-thirds of its distance; and
Whereas the remaining sections of Krosno Boulevard has
deteriorated to a dangerous degree during this winter season; and
Whereas Broadview Avenue and Annland Street are included in the
1985 budget for road repairs;
Now Therefore be it resolved that the funds allocated in the 1985
budget for repairs to Broadview Avenue and Annland Street be
redesignated for repairs to the remaining section of Krosno
Boulevard;
and that funds for road repairs to Broadview Avenue and Annland
Street be considered in the 1986 budget.
Referred to the Executive Committee Meeting of March 25, 1985 for
a report outlining the costs involved in upgrading Annland Street
and Broadview Street as compared to Krosno Boulevard including the
amount of subsidies available to the Town from the Ministry of
Transportation and Communications.

to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:

Being a By-law to amend Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law 3036, as
amended, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering
District Planning Area, Region of Durham on Lot 16, Plan 819, in
the Town of Pickering. (A 10/84)

Being a by-law to authorize the execution of a Subdivision Agree-
ment between Bramalea Limited and the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering respecting the development of part Lot 19, Range 3,
Broken Front Concession, Pickering (Draft Plan 18T-83013)
By-law Number 1979/85
Being a by-law to authorize the execution of a Transfer of Storm
Sewer Easements between Bramalea Limited and The Corporation of
the Town of Pickering over those parts of Lots 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7,
Plan 40M- , designated as Parts 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9, Plan 40R-

Being a by-law to stop up part of the road allowance between Lots

For regulating, governing and prohibiting the operation of motor-

For restricting and regulating the operation of off-road vehicles
in the Town of Pickering.
By-law Number 1984/85
Being a by-law to amend By-law 851/78 providing for the regulating
of parking, standing and stopping on highways or parts of highways
under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
and on private and municipal property.
By-law Number 1985/85
Being a Zoning By-law to amend Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law
2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of
Pickering District Planning Area, Region of Durham in Part Lots
64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70 and 71, Plan 418, in the Town of
Pickering.
THIRD READING
Councillor Stoner, seconded by Councillor Mitchell moved that the
report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Number 1908/84,
1978/85, 1979/85, 1981/85, 1982/85, 1983/85, 1984/85 and 1985/85
be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and
PASSED, and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and the seal of
the Corporation be affixed thereto.

CONFIRMATION BY-LAW
By-law Number 1986/85
Councillor Stoner, seconded by Councillor Arthurs moved for leave
to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the
proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering at its meeting held on March 11, 1985 and that same be
now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now
finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that
the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
