1528/82, 1529/82, 1530/82, 1531/82, 1532/82, 1533/82, 1534/82,
1535/82, 1536/82, 1537/82, 1538/82, 1539/82, 1540/82, 1541/82,
1542/82, 1543/82 and 1544/82 be adopted as amended, as
follows:
By-law 1544/82 was amended in Section 5(2)(g) by deleting
the words "business offices" and "professional offices".
and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and
PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and
the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

Councillor Cahill asked staff to investigate
the feasibility of licensing amusement parks.
Councillor Stoner reported on the seminar she
attended in Ithaca, New York, on ground water
management.

Councillor Robertson and Mayor Anderson thanked
the Canada Week Committee for the excellent job
of arranging the Canada Week celebrations.
The following matters were discussed prior to
the regular meeting:

The Town Manager reported that the M.T.R.C.A.
wishes to fence off a portion of the Uxbridge/
Pickering Townline and Council directed that
a poll of area residents be taken to determine
their views on this.
b)
Council concurred with the recommendation
of the Town Treasurer that the equalized
assessment report not be appealed.

By-law Number 1546/82
Councillor Byers, seconded by Councillor Robertson moved
for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering
to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the July
5, 1982, and that same be now read a first, second and
third time and that the same be now finally passed and.~,
that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

CANCELLATION, REDUCTION
AND REFUND OF TAXES

Whereas Section 496 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.,
1980, transfers the responsibility for the
hearing of the applications for cancellation,
reduction or refund of taxes to the Council
of the Municipality;
AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications
have been received by the Clerk of the Munici-
pality for the cancellation, reduction and
refund of taxes for various reasons;
AND WHEREAS upon investigation and receipt
of reasonable explanations all claims have
been substantiated;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of
