Thet tha draft by-law to establish a feo of S125.00 for infortnation relating to properties in the
Town of Pickering bo forwarded to Council for enactment.

Tha fee for infortnation relating to properties in tho Town of Pickering ahould be increased from
5100 per inquiry to SI25 per inquiry to retlect improvemente to thi� service and to reFlect the
addidonal infortnation that is being requested.
, BACKGROUND:
At preaent, the Town charges SI00 for infortnetion relating to propertiw in the Town. Most of
these inquiries come &om Jewyero representing a vendor or buyer in a real estete transaction.
These inquiries usually mquest informetion about the wning of the property, any outstanding
work orders, compliance with Subdivision Agreements and other agreements, and other pertinent
.9uestiona.
_. Up until a month ego, these inquiries would come inro the Clak's Deptvtment and my etnff would
arculate these letters to the Planning and Public Worka Departments for input. This manuel
hendling of inquiries meant that responses wera not prepared for at least two weekn.
1'he handling of theso inqulries hae now ban computecized and only ona person is dealing with
these inquiries which menne thet we ere now abia to respond within three deye.

WHEREAS pum.�ant 4o Section 96(3) uf G�e Munidpal Act, F..S.O, 1990, c, M.45, as amended,
;;' i': Council ahall fuc the sum to be paid to the Clerk tiy any peroon for copiw of awude or other
documents, or for any uther services rendered by him; and
VVHEREAS it is damed expedient to increase the fee for infonnation relating to propertiw in the
Town ofPickering from S100 to S125;
NOW Tf�REFORE TI-IE COUNCQ. OF T!� CORPORATION OF Tf� TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWSi
1. The fa for information rdeting to propertie� in the Town of Pickering shall be S 125.00
