(H) OTHER BUSINESS
1. Councillor Brenner advised of his invitation, as Child Advocate for the
Region of Durham,to attend the City of Toronto's Urban Summit on
Children's Issues in Ontario,to be held on March 7th, 2000.
2. Councillor Brenner commented on correspondence legal ondence received concerning

three options offered to the OMB for servicing of a development in Uxbridge
and his suggestion that a Resolution be sent to the Region of Durham advising
that no force-main connection will be accepted through the City of Pickering.
3. Councillor Dickerson also commented on the legal correspondence offering
three options to the OMB for servicing of the Uxbridge Development and
suggested that these are options offered as requested by the OMB of the
proponent.
4. Councillor Dickerson requested a Leave to Introduce a Notice of Motion
concerning the south-end of Liverpool Road and the Detailed Design Study.

5. Councillor Holland commented on Councillor Dickerson's Notice of Motion
concerning the Liverpool Road Detailed Design Study.

6. The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting:
a) The Chief Administrative Officer distributed correspondence concerning
Various agreements: Pickering Baseball Assoc., Canadian Progress Club
and Pickering/Ajax Italian Social Club; as well as correspondence
concerning Property Liability Insurance.
b) Councillor Brenner advised that he would be requesting the Notice of
Motion concerning City of Toronto's bid to host the 2000 Olympic Games
be held over to a future meeting.

CITY OF PICKERING
That the Executive Committee of the City of Pickering having met on March 6th, 2000,
presents its fifth report to Council and recommends:
1. CULTURE &RECREATION REPORT #01/00
AJAX MULTI-USE SCHOOL PROJECT
That Report CR 01-00 be received by Council and that
1. The Town of Ajax be thanked for their invitation to participate in the upgrading of
a new Ajax High School auditorium into a Community Theatre.
2. The Town of Ajax be advised that the City of Pickering will not be allocating
capital funds for the proposed Ajax Multi-Use School Project. '
2. CORPORATE SERVICES & TREASURER REPORT#04/00
SECTION 442 OF THE MUNICIPAL ACT-ADJUSTMENTS TO TAXES
That Report CS O4-00 be received; and
That the Director, Corporate Services & Treasurer be authorized to write-off taxes
due to fire, demolition, clerical error, exemption and assessment change as provided
under Section 442 of the Municipal Act.
3. TRANSIT REPORT#01/00
HIGHWAY 2-HIGHWAY 401 CORRIDOR TRANSIT SERVICE REVIEW
FINAL REPORT
1. That the final report of the Highway 2 — Highway 401 Corridor Transit Service
Review entitled "Co-operation and Consensus: Rationalizing Transit Services in
the Highway 2 — Highway 401 Corridor" prepared by Entra. Consultants be
received; and
2. That the recommendations of the Conventional Transit Operators Sub-Committee
of the Regional Transit Coordinating Committee (RTCC), acting as the Steering
Committee for the Highway 2 —Highway 401 Corridor Transit Service Review be
endorsed in principal by the Council of the City of Pickering, forming the basis
for further discussion and implementation by the Transit Operators of Durham;
and
3. That the Council of the City of Pickering support Go Transit as the preferred
provider of integrated regional and intermunicipal transit services in the Highway
2 corridor; and
4. That a copy of Report TR 01-00 be forwarded to the Region of Durham Planning
Department.
4. PROCLAMATIONS
"PHARMACY AWARENESS WEEK"
That Mayor Arthurs be authorized to make the following proclamation:
"Pharmacy Awareness Week"—March 6— 12, 2000
