Ryan in attendance. The Strategic Plan will begin with the Mandate and Terms of
Reference. Gary Ranalli will create a template for the Committee to be prepared for the
next meeting.
Gary advised that the template will be a starting point, that full participation, by the
Committee will be necessary, and that the template will provide a framework and will be
based on the Town Policy. It will identify areas of focus and perhaps the beginning of a
Mission Statement.
Jill advised that the Committee will then have the objectives and the direction of how to
reach those objectives outlined.

The Strategic Plan will be blocked into the next series of meetings.
3. Forum
Phil Matsushita recommended that, if the forum is to be held, a date needs to be set
immediately and a sub - committee should be organized to consider various individuals to
be the special speaker at the event.
Steve Reynolds advised that at the last meeting a number of individuals stated their wish
that the forum be held.
It was decided that the forum will be held in May on the first or second Wednesday or
Thursday.
The sub - committee was formed to include Phil, Tanya, Shaun, Pritty, Reeshma, Emily or
Krystle, Dunbarton rep. Town rep. and Aisha. This committee will also deal will
outreach, attempting to get more community involvement.
The flyer outlining responses from students concerning "What is Equity to Us" was
discussed. Phil advised that these flyers were distributed at Pine Ridge. Each school
represented had a number of responses with them and shared some of the comments.
Phil stated that the space available will dictate how many students can be included.
Tanya advised that the space depends on how much advertising. The more advertising,
the more space. She also advised that the flyer will be inserted in the December 6th or
8th issue.
Phil suggested that ethnic restaurants could be approached about advertising.
Phil advised that at the meeting of the three schools it was felt that 25 responses from
each school would be sufficient.
A discussion concerning the size of response for insert took place. It was concluded that
the responses should be varied, some one liners, some paragraphs, schools should be
mixed together not set in groups. The persons name, school and age will be included on
the flyer.
