The Corporation of the City of Pickering
By-Iaw No. 7259/13
A By-law to confirm the proceedings of the
Council of the Corporation of the City of .
Pickering at its Special Council Meeting of
January 14, 2013 .
Whereas pursuant to Section 5(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001,.S.0. 2001, c. M,25,
as amended, the powers of a municipality shall be exercised by its council; and
Whereas pursuant to Section 5(3) of the said Act, a municipal power, including a
municipality's capacity, rights, powers and privileges under Section 8 of the said ;
Act, shall be exercised by by-!aw unless the municipality is specifically authorized . I
to do otherwise; and -
Whereas it is deemed expedient that the proceedings of the Council of the
Corporation of the City of Pickering at this meeting be confirmed and adopted by
By-law;
Now Therefore the Council of the Corpora#ion of the City of Pickering enacts as
foflows:
1. The actions of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering at its Special Meeting of January 14, 2013 and each motion and resolution '
passed and other action taken by the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Pickering at this meeting, is hereby adopted and confirmed as if all
such proceedings were expressly embodied in this By-law; ,2: The Mayor and proper officials of the Corporation af the City of Pickering
are hereby authorized and directect to do all things necessary to give •
effect to the action of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Pickering referred to in the preceding section hereof;
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal of the
Corporation of the City of Pickering. :
