Let's hope our Roads Department do as good a j9b this year keeping our roads ploughed of snow as they did last year. Some of the roads I've been on lately felt as if they were ploughed already only this time they used a farmer's type field plough. Alan Lamport will definitely not run against Reeve S. The cost of desks, black- boards, lights, equipment etc. are fairly standard. There is no quibble about teacherst salaries, janitorial services or school supplies costs. The high cost seems to be in the actual building construction. -Nhat can be so expensive about a common cement block building? 'Aiy did it take them so long to build it? Did you ever notice hors long it takes a contractor to build a cement block building for a Canadian Tire Store for example? The project is com- pleted and occupied before the cement is hardened. An example of this was when Mrs. Brown, Fast Ave. asked for Blood Donors for her two year old son who has Hemophillia. Mrs. Brown could not believe the response of our local citizens who wished to help. Also, Mr. and Mrs. McMullen, Sunnyslope, felt the warmth of the whole commun- ity when their six year old son Robin was so seriously ill following an accident in the summer. They say Charity is cold but a kind deed, a warm smile or a word of comfort when needed could hardly be called cold and costs so little. . Remember it is always darkest before the dawn, the tall oak tree was once a little nut and two things are for sure - death and taxes. Time waits for no man so count your blessings and do be thankful.
