Many in our midst are new to this area, and may be un-ava.re of the fact that since we live outside the Metro boundary, we receive no assistance from the United Appeal. We must raise all our funds from this annual March appeal. Some of the projects carried out by the local branch are - Blood Donor Service This is very necessary work, and blood donors a.re always needed. The next clinic will be held in Pickering Village in late spring. Disaster, Fire & Welfare Blankets, bedding and clothing are supplied in times of emergency or where there is real need in the home. Water Safety All schools in Pickering area ere visited by Cross workers to emphasize th once of water safety. Classe instruction are held during the summer months. No ch;ld resident in the township was drowned last year. Junior Red Cross This organization assists children with crutches, glosses, dental services and trans- portation to hospital. Senior Citizens A senior citizens group has been organized in the Claremont area, and we hope to form one in the West Rouge.
