Ravelling during rush hours? Find the colour -coded route

schedule with the same colour. Easy?
Ravelling when the rush hour's not on - or during the
day on Saturday. Find the colour -coded route on the
small "off-peak" map and check the matching -coloured
schedule.
GO (Government of Ontario) Transit carries more
than 120,000 passengers every weekday, many
from their homes in communities like Pickering
to their jobs in downtown Toronto. Lakeshore GO
Trains run daily between Burlington in the west
and Whitby in the east. Extra trains run at
morning and evening rush hours, and GO Buses
WESTBOUND
GO TRAIN SERVICE
GO Trains depart hourly from Pickering station
every day with extra trains at rush hours.
Downtown Toronto is less than 40 minutes
away. GO Bus connections at Burlington GO
station extend service west to Hamilton.
EASTBOUND
GO TRAIN SERVICE
GO Trains to Whitby depart hourly from
Pickering station every day with extra trains at
rush hours. GO Bus connections are available
from Whitby, east to Oshawa and Bowmanville.
One rush-hour train per day runs between
Oshawa and Toronto.
WESTBOUND
GO BUS SERVICE
GO Buses from Pickering Town Centre connect
with TTC subway service at Scarborough City
Centre, York Mills Subway Station and
Yorkdale Bus Terminal.
EASTBOUND
GO BUS SERVICE
Highway 2 service east from Pickering GO
station to Oshawa Bus Terminal with connec-
tions east to Bowmanville.
connect Oshawa and Bowmanville with trains
at the Whitby GO Station. One rush-hour train per
day runs between Oshawa and Toronto.
We also offer service to Union Station for special events such as
Blue Jays baseball and Argo football games at Toronto's SkyDome,
and to Exhibition station for attractions on the CNE grounds.
THE EASY WAY TO GO FOR A DAY
GO riders who do not have a monthly pass or
multi -ride ticket can purchase a Day Pass good
for one day's unlimited travel between two
points on the GO network. (The Day Pass is
non-refundable.)

GO TWIN PASS
Regular users of GO and TTC services can buy
their GO Transit adult monthly pass and ITC
Metropass in one transaction, and at a $20.00
discount. Twin passes are on sale at Pickering
GO station starting on the 24th of each month.
Group Discounts
5 FOR THE PRICE OF 2
A group of up to five people can get a return
trip on the GO system for the cost of two
regular fares — as long as one or two people in
the group are 18 years or older. Just ask for a
Group Pass. (Good only on day of purchase.)

Our honour fare system, called Proof of
Payment (POP), makes regular commuting as
easy as it could possibly be.
Ticket and pass holders can board trains
without stopping at a seller's booth. Simply
retain your proof of fare payment in case a GO
official asks to see it.
Just show your monthly GO pass or POP
ticket to the Pickering Transit driver and you'll
ride to the GO Train station free.
It works on the way home too! Just show
your GO pass or POP ticket to the Pickering
Transit driver.
The catch? You must have purchased your
GO adult or student monthly pass, Twin Pass,
2-ride, or 10-ride POP tickets in advance. And
you'll avoid all the traffic and parking hassles.

Great new Rush `R' Routes!

Travelling to school, the GO Station or other popular destinations
during rush hour? We've made it easier - and faster - morning
and afternoon.
"R" Service has been increased to every 20 minutes from 6 to 9 am
and between 4 and 7 pm.
Tb let us offer that level of service, we've had to make Rush "R"
routes slightly different than regular routes. If you're travelling
during Rush Hours - check the big map for the colour of the route
you want. Match it with the colour of the Rush "R" schedule - and
find out how convenient Pickering Transit has become. All Rush
"R" schedules are marked with an "R"
If you're travelling before or after the Rush "R," use the small map
and the colour -coded timetable.

Mid -day Monday through Friday service is every half hour. If
you're travelling between 9 am and 4 pm, find your route on this
map. Then match the colour of the route with the colour of the
timetable.

But that's not all it costs. Those figures don't include car
payments. Or car insurance Or maintenance. These take
total car costs to 29 to 38 cents per kilometre And that
doesn't include parking!
For more people the result is `way more than they thought.

seven passengers is more energy -efficient and pollutes
less than a private car for the average work trip. An
average transit bus replaces 50 cars during rush hours
