It is now complete and representative of its appearance circa 1830. The Museum was opened in 1961 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of municipal government in Pickering Township. It was made possible by contributions from residents and friends of the Township, Ontario County Council and the Pickering Township Council. It now receives annual grants from the On- tario Department of Travel and Publicity.
