The day being_ rainy and disagreeable there was rather a thin
attendance of spectators, but there :gas a pretty fair competition
among the different classes of horses ?present. The following is a

Joseph Booth, of i.arldian, entered a horse in the Canadian draught
class, which the judges considered entitled to the 2nd. prize, but
was too late on the -round.
harness- The iiarness exhibited by is-r. J ages Digby, of Claremont,
and to which a first prize was awarded attracted conAderable
attention. It comprised a set of heavy substantial tears harness,
with his`h torped collars and polished steel harness and breech band
all nicely ornaLLfiented; a neat chaste set of best silver riounted
harness, whic', eras iuch ad_ iced for its neat, plain, and durable
appearance, the straps being- all r_oubled and stretcjed.
,r. )i�jby has exhibited at the different toi�mship spring
shows this last sixteen years, and has always received the first
prize, and for such per.�everance we certainly think he is entitled

to a lot of encouragement.
